Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Barbarians lack subtlety, which typically goes without saying. The Path of the Shadowstalker, on the other hand, are the few of these primal warriors who value stealth, ambush, and the ability to remain focused in combat while punishing their enemies with their rage. Taught typically in cultures which choose to remain both hidden from the world and secluded from civilation altogether, this Path values the effort to remain unseen until it's too late for their foes. Laying in wait for their enemies, hiding with expert camouflage, these Barbarians leap into the fray with brutal violence only to disappear again soon after, and the truly accomplished among them are able to become fully invisible until they strike at their hapless foes.

Stalker's Fury

3rd-level Path of the Shadowstalker feature

At 3rd level when you choose this Primal Path, you become trained in how to draw less attention to yourself as you enter a rage, enabling you to leap into a fray with the advantage of surprise. When you are in a rage, you are able to concentrate on spells (but not cast them), and it ends early if you are knocked unconscious or if your turn ends and you haven’t attempted a Dexterity (Stealth) check or attacked a hostile creature since your last turn or also taken damage since then. When you hit with a weapon attack against a creature that you are hidden from while in a Rage, you double your rage damage bonus against that creature the first time you deal damage to them this turn.

Additionally, you gain proficiency in Stealth.

Shadow Stalking

6th-level Path of the Shadowstalker feature

At 6th level in this class, you gain the knowledge of how to use primal magic and expert camouflage to keep yourself hidden. You can cast the Pass Without Trace spell without expending a spell slot and without material components a number of times equal to your Proficiency Bonus before you must finish a long rest to cast it this way again.

Additionally, you are able to strike foes that have not detected you in ways which perfectly take advantage of the openings you utilize. Whenever you attack a creature you are hidden from, if it is the first creature you have attacked this turn, that creature cannot take reactions until the end of your turn.

Lastly, you are an expert tracker, and you have advantage on Wisdom (Perception) and Wisdom (Survival) checks to notice, find and track a specific creature you are seeking.

Wrath of the Night

10th-level Path of the Shadowstalker feature

When surrounded by darkness, you vanish in shadows, reaping your enemies without being seen at all. If you are in conditions of dim light or darkness, you can cast Greater Invisibility on yourself as an action without expending a spell slot. If you are subjected to a bright flash of light originating within 20 feet of you while you concentrate on this spell, this spell ends. You may cast this spell this way once without expending a spell slot before you must finish a long rest to cast it this way again.

Additionally, you are best trained for night hunting, you suffer no disadvantage on visual Perception checks for dim light conditions, and if you are not wearing armor or equipped with a shield, you double you proficiency bonus on Stealth checks in dim light or darkness.

Brutal Shadow

14th-level Path of the Shadowstalker feature

At 14th level, you learn to become a literal and ethereal shadow, reaving enemies and making them helpless against you. You can cast Etherealness on yourself once without expending a spell slot, and if you enter a rage in the border ethereal, you can choose to target and attack creatures in the physical, material realm. If you do, the spell ends at the end of your rage. You can cast this spell this way once before you must finish a long rest to cast it this way again.

Additionally, if you are hit with an attack while you are in a rage, you can use a reaction to roll Stealth opposed by your enemy's Perception. If you succeed in this roll, you become invisible to the attacking creature until the beginning of your next turn. You can use this feature on any creature once before you cannot use it on that creature again until you finish a long rest, and a failure on the Stealth roll does not count as a use of this feature.
