Bard
Base Class: Bard

"Most people, when they graduate from the School of Hard Knocks, automatically enroll in the University of Adversity."

Hard Knock Life

At 3rd level, while you aren't wearing armor or a shield, you gain the following benefits:

Unarmored Defense. Your base Armor Class equals 10 + your Dexterity modifier + your Charisma modifier

Resilient Inspiration. When you expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration as part of an action, a Bonus Action, or a Reaction, you gain temporary hit points equal to your Bard level + your Dexterity modifier.

Bardic Damage. You can use Dexterity instead of Strength for attack rolls using Unarmed Strikes or Simple Weapons. When you deal damage with an Unarmed Strike or Simple Weapon, you can deal damage equal to a roll of your Bardic Inspiration die plus your Dexterity modifier. This roll doesn’t expend the die.

Smack Tactics

Also at Level 3, you have learned to help your allies by distracting enemies through any means possible: knocking them off balance, throwing dirt in their eyes, making noise, etc. When a creature within 5 ft of you is targeted by an allies attack or spell, you can use your Reaction to expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration and make a distraction for your ally:

Give and Go. The target creature's AC is reduced by a roll of your Bardic Inspiration until the end of your allies turn. Make a weapon attack against the target, if it lands, your ally can make one extra attack as part of the attack action.

Shake and Bake. The target creature's spell save DC is reduced by a roll of your Bardic Inspiration until the end of your allies turn. Make a weapon attack against the target, if it lands, your ally receives one Bardic Inspiration. This Bardic Inspiration can also be used to add to the damage rolled or hit points regained on a spell.

Tax Evasion

At 6th level, when you are subjected to an effect that allows you to make a Dexterity saving throw to take only half damage, you instead take no damage if you succeed on the saving throw, and you take only half damage if you fail. If any creatures within 10 feet of you are making the same Dexterity saving throw, you can share this benefit with them for that save. You can’t use this feature if you have the Incapacitated condition.

Survival Instinct

At 14th level, when you make a saving throw(including death saves), you can roll a Bardic Inspiration die and add the number rolled to the saving throw. This does not expend a use of your Bardic Inspiration.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier (minimum of once), and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.
