Base Class: Bard
College of Divinity
Bards are well known as traveling performers, minstrels, and entertainment. Some are even known as prolific spies. However, some serve a higher purpose. In a world governed heavily by the gods, the gods need a mouthpiece for the times in which they are unable intervene, themselves. The College of Divinity bard takes up this role; singing and speaking the will of the gods unto the people. Because of the work that they do, they are blessed with some divine power to aid them in their travels and work.
Providence
When you join the College of Divinity at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with Religion if you do not already have it. In addition, whenever you learn a new bard spell, you may select a spell from the cleric spell list.
Divine Utterance
Also at 3rd level, your words carry the weight of the gods. When a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you makes an attack roll or forces an ally to make a saving throw, you may use your reaction to expend one use of your bardic inspiration. Roll your inspiration die. You deal your choice of radiant or necrotic damage to the target equal to the die roll plus your proficiency bonus.
Hallowed Inspiration
At 6th level, your bardic inspiration is blessed by the gods. If a creature rolls a bardic inspiration die that you have given them, they may, in addition to its normal effect, choose one of the following effects:
Replenish. When an ally rolls an inspiration die, they may regain hit points equal to the die roll plus your CHA modifier.
Revitalize. When an ally rolls an inspiration die, they may choose to end one of the following effects on them: Charmed, Diseased, Frightened, or Poisoned.
Sacred Judgement
Starting at 14th level, your words allow you to pass judgement for the gods. As an action, you may choose one of the options below.
Salvation. A creature that you can see may regain hit points equal to the highest number on your bardic inspiration die plus your bard level and gains advantage on all attack rolls and saving throws until the end of your next turn.
Retribution. A creature that you can see makes a CHA saving throw vs your spell save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes radiant or necrotic damage (your choice) equal to the highest number on your bardic inspiration die plus your bard level and has disadvantage on all attack rolls and saving throws until the end of your next turn. On a successful save, the creature takes half damage and does not have disadvantage.
This ability may be used once per long rest, however, you may spend a bardic inspiration die to recharge this ability. If you do, roll the die and reduce your maximum hit points by the number rolled plus your CHA modifier. Your hit points reset once you finish a long rest.
