Base Class: Paladin
as an oath of blades paladin you weald a powerful connection to swords of any kind. because of this connection, you constantly generate an aura of cutting force or "annihilation" if you want to be edgy about it. you can control and shape this aura to serve a variety of purposes.
unlike most paladins, your smites don't deal radiant damage and instead deal a form of damage unique to you called annihilation. annihilation is essentially an aura of cutting force witch attempts to cut everything it touches. annihilation is able to harm things that normally would be immune to damage like an astral projection.
at later levels, this class gains counterspell and dispel magic which is interpreted as using the annihilation aura to cut through spells.
this subclass was heavily inspired by the character Karis Solerian from the war of broken mirrors/weapons and wielders books and is a bit overpowered but that's kinda the point. I may balance out the subclass later if I ever actually use it for a campaign but if you're reading this I obviously haven't.
Channel Annihilation
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Annihilation options.
extend aura. .As a bonus action, on an attack you extend the cutting aura around your weapon in a slashing arch, increasing its reach by 15 feet. the attack ignores cover and deals the damage of a first-level smite of this class without expending a spell slot. alternatively, you can expend a spell slot of the appropriate level to upcast the smite.
well-trained blade. As a bonus action, you gain advantage on all attack rolls and saving throws until the start of your next turn. any enemy you reduce to 0 hitpoints before the effect ends must immediately make a death saving throw.

warriors aura
By 7th level, your cutting aura has become a natural part of your fighting style, your cutting aura now lashes out on all attacks. your melee reach increases by 10 feet. this does not apply to grapples, shoves, or handling objects.
all severing blade
Starting at 15th level, you build up a massive amount of power and release it in a single blow cutting everything in its path from physical matter, to the fabric of reality itself. once per long rest you can imbue a melee attack with cutting force lashing out in a 60ft arch (uses the same rules as a cone but 2 dimensional). all creatures in the arch must make a dex saving throw. on a successful save, they take no damage, on a failed one roll damage for a melee attack with the weapon you used plus the damage from a first-level smite, and double the dice as if the attack was a critical hit. you can choose to upcast the smite and expend a spell slot of the appropriate level. the arch ignores all cover. any magical object caught in the arch must make a Constitution saving throw or be cut and destroyed by the arch, any non-magical objects that are not being worn or carried automatically fail.
Body of Annihilation
At 20th level, your mastery of annihilation energy has become complete. Using your action, you wrap your body in annihilation energy. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:
- all attacks except for psychic or thunder deal half damage.
- You emanate an aura of annihilation in a 20-foot radius. The first time any creature or non-magical object enters the aura or starts its turn there during a battle, the creature or object must make a Constitution saving throw. on a successful save, they take half damage, on a failed one they take 6d8 annihilation damage. objects make the save on the start of your turn and are disintegrated on a failure, this does not apply to objects you are wearing or holding.
- if you drop below a quarter of your hitpoint maximum while this effect is active you gain a plus 1d4 to hit on all melee attacks.
- due to an intense blood lust induced by your annihilation aura, you must make an attack on one creature within 10ft of you at the start of your turn if there are any, this includes allies.
- any creature that drops to 0 hit points while inside the aura is disintegrated.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a long rest.
