Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Mixing arcane arts and brute force, some warriors have archive the better of both worlds. Striking enemies with rage only will push you so far...

Spellcasting

When you reach 3rd level, you augment your brute force with the ability to cast spells. See Spells Rules for the general rules of spellcasting.

Cantrips

You learn two cantrips of your choice from the sorcerer spell list, provided that those spells don't require an spell attack or a saving throw. You learn an additional cantrip of your choice from the sorcerer spell list, provided that those spells don't require an spell attack or a saving throw at 10th level.

Spell Slots

The Path of the Arcane Brute Spellcasting table shows how many spell slots you have to cast your sorcerer spells of 1st level and higher. To cast one of these spells, you must expend a slot of the spell’s level or higher. You regain all expended spell slots when you finish a long rest.

For example, if you know the 1st-level spell shield and have a 1st-level and a 2nd-level spell slot available, you can cast shield using either slot.

Spells Known of 1st-Level and Higher

You know two 1st-level spells of your choice from the list bellow.

The Spells Known column of the Path of the Arcane Brute Spellcasting table shows when you learn more spells of 1st level or higher. The new spells you learn must be of a level for which you have spell slots. For instance, when you reach 7th level in this class, you can learn one new spell of 1st or 2nd level.

Whenever you gain a level in this class, you can replace one of the spells you know with another spell of your choice from the sorcerer spell list, provided that those spells don't require an spell attack or a saving throw. The new spell must be of a level for which you have spell slots.

Spellcasting Ability

Constitution is your spellcasting ability for your sorcerer spells, since you learn your spells through your innate magic. You use your Constitution whenever a spell refers to your spellcasting ability. In addition, you use your Constitution modifier when setting the saving throw DC for a sorcerer spell you cast and when making an attack roll with one.

Spell save DC = 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Constitution modifier

Spell attack modifier = your proficiency bonus + your Constitutionmodifier

Arcane Strike

3rd-level Path of the Arcane Brute

You can imbue your magic into your strikes. Whenever you hit a creature with a melee weapon attack wit a weapon using your Strenght modifier to the attack roll, you can spend a 1st level spell slot to deal 2d6 force additional damage. If you spend a 2nd level spell or higher, your additional damage increases to 1d6 per each level above the 1st, up to 5d6.

Resilient Casting

6th-level Path of the Arcane Brute

You have learned how to use some of the mighty power you reach while raging whenever you concentrate on a spell. Whenever you cast a concentration spell, you have resistance to piercing, slashing and bludgeoning damage from non-magical weapons.

Life Throug Magic

10th-level Path of the Arcane Brute

Your magic can push you beyond the limits of your own body. When you have to make a death saving throw at the start of your turn, you can instead spend a spell slot to regain a number of hit points equal to the level of the spell slot + your Constitution modifier.

Arcane Rage

14th-level Path of the Arcane Brute

Whenever you cast a concentration spell that targets only you, you can choose to enter rage instead. Until the end of the current rage or until you start a new rage, you gain the benefits from the spell you would cast. Both the use of rage and the spell slot are spent using this feature.
