Base Class: Monk
The ki summoner uses the ki of slain creatures to fight in combat. collecting a number of creatures that have fallen and summoning them when they have become powerful enough to do so.
Summon Ki Warrior
As a bonus action Summon forth a Ki warrior as a companion to aid you.
-The Ki warrior had to have been absorbed by you and be of a CR rating equal to or less than your monk level plus proficiency modifier. The creature retains all its abilities in life however it has half its hit points and if it attacks with melee it does not add any modifiers to damage and only rolls damage die, if it casts a spell the damage is halved.
-When summoned the Ki warrior rolls its own initiative and obeys any verbal commands given by the summoner.
-You can only summon one Ki warrior at a time and it must remain within 60 ft of you or revert back into a gem.
-The creature remains for 1 hour or until destroyed. You may do this an amount of times equal to half your proficiency modifier (rounded up) per long rest.
Absorb Ki Warrior
When a creature dies within 30 ft of you, you can attempt to absorb its Ki essence, transforming it into a tiny sized gem that appears in your hand.it is whatever gem type you desire and is translucent with a faint image of the absorbed creature inside.
-When you see the creature die as a reaction you can attempt to absorb it, your modifier equals your wisdom modifier + amount of Ki spent (minimum 1) + number of D4 equal to half proficiency modifier rounded up. after rolling to attempt you can sacrifice Ki gems to improve your chances, for every absorbed creature you sacrifice you gain a +1 to the roll to capture. the DC for capture is equal to the creatures CR rating (DM only discloses CR rating after the capture attempt is finished.).
-You can absorb a total amount of creatures equal to half your monk level rounded up.
-If the Ki warrior is reduced to 0 HP it dissipates and returns to your hand as a Ki gem and has cracks and fractures appear on it. If this happens 5 times the gem shatters and the Ki warrior is lost. You can recall the Ki warrior early as an action.
Channel Ki warrior.
You gain the ability to channel the essence of your Ki warriors, gaining improved defense or attack based on the chosen warrior.
-you can spend 1 Ki point to gain any of the resistances of the chosen Ki warrior and gain resistance for any immunities they had. this lasts for 1 minute.
-Additionally you may spend on Ki point to gain a damage bonus ONCE PER TURN based on the chosen warrior equal to your martial arts die for 1 minute.
--the damage type changes based on the summoned creature type (a fiend would grant fire damage, undead would grand necrotic and a celestial radiant damage.) if the warrior has a specific damage type associated with it (red dragon fire, frost giant cold, water elemental acid etc)
--if the damage type is not apparent the dm chooses.
Absorb Ki
When a creature dies you can absorb a portion of its Ki to recover your own Ki
-as a reaction when a creature dies within 30ft of you you can absorb its Ki and add it to your pool.
--1 Ki for medium or smaller creature, 2 for a large creature, 3 for a huge creature, 4 for a gargantuan creature.
you can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier every long rest.
Command Ki Warrior
As you gain strength you become able to command and connect with the Ki summon better.
-As a bonus action you can spend 2 Ki points to give your summon an additional action which it takes immediately. you can do this a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier per long rest.
-Additionally you can spend an hour meditating to cast speak with dead on one of your Ki warriors. the Ki warrior appears only to the summoner and observes events outside of its gem and learns. Although the creature may start hostile it may grow to like the summoner and act as a companion or advisor.
Ki Army
After gaining the strength of so many warriors, you are able to summon two warriors at a time to the field.
-spend an additional summon slot to summon a second Ki warrior to the field,
-the second warrior requires your concentration to maintain the extra Ki Warrior.
-you gain the resistances of both warriors.
