Barbarian
Base Class: Barbarian

Keepers of the wild, watchers of the plains, Wardens fight to maintain balance in the natural world. Tireless in their efforts to keep this balance in check, they gain assistance from their infamous Greatbows as they hunt down any who try to disrupt nature's harmony. In the eyes of a Warden, it is best to keep your friends close, and never let your enemies get closer.

Wisdom of the Ages

You gain proficiency in two of the following skills of your choice: Animal Handling, Insight, Nature, Perception, or Survival.

Alternatively, you can become proficient with either Woodcarver’s or Leatherworker’s tools.

Imposing Armament

When you choose this path at 3rd level, you watch over the realm with assistance from ancient crafts. Using the Greatbow, you gain the ability to reach out and touch enemies from a mighty distance with heavy barrages.

You know how to craft an oversized longbow called a Greatbow requiring mighty skill to wield. Crafting this weapon of legend requires at least 100 gp worth of high-quality wood and sinew to make. The ammunition is spear-like missiles that cost at least 1 gp per arrow.

Your Enraged Strikes may require your target to make a saving throw to resist its effects. The saving throw DC equals 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Strength modifier. The stats for the Greatbow are as follows.

The Greatbow is Heavy and Two Handed. Strength is used to hit and damage rolls for 2d6 piercing damage, range of 200/800.

When wielding the Greatbow, you must first use a Bonus action to stabilize the weapon, or the ranged attacks made with it are at Disadvantage and it cannot be used at long range. If you spend a Bonus action to Rage this will also stabilize the Greatbow. Your character must not use any more of its movement to stay stabilized.

  • You can now add your Rage Damage bonus onto the damage rolls of thrown simple or martial weapons, and the Greatbow.
  • The Reckless Attack feature now applies to the attacks of thrown simple or martial weapons, and the Greatbow.

Enraged Strikes

Beginning at 6th level, Barbarians are infamous for their ferocity in melee combat; those who follow the Path of the Warden learn to channel bursts of that Rage into various types of Enraged Strikes. Enhancing an attack in this way allows for one type of Enraged Strike to be used per attack roll with the Greatbow, and thrown simple or martial weapons,.

  • You have one additional Rage added to your total number of Rages per day.

Each Rage spent per attack increases the damage dealt by one additional weapon damage die. The number of Rages that can be spent per attack is at a maximum of two. A target can make a saving throw at a beginning of their turn using an action to resist the effects. The Rage can be spent on the attack roll, but before knowing if the attack hits.

  1. Frightening Carnage: Each rage spent on this weapon attack deals additional damage in a 10ft radius equal to your Rage damage bonus, while also causing Fear. Any hostile creature within the radius must succeed a Wisdom saving throw or be Frightened one turn for each Rage spent on the Strike.
  2. Pinning Impact: With the expenditure of one or more Rages on an attack, you can attempt to Disarm and Restrain a target. The target must succeed a Strength saving throw, on a failed save they are Disarmed and the target is Restrained one turn for each Rage spent on the Strike.
  3. Stunning Shot: With the expenditure of one or more Rages on an attack, you aim for the head attempting to Stun a target. The enemy must succeed a Constitution saving throw, on a failed save the target is Stunned one turn for each Rage spent on the Strike.

Tireless Hunters

Beginning at 10th level, Warden elders learned to use wells of rage that build within to fend off waves of invaders, cleansing wicked blights from their lands.

  • After a Short rest you gain the ability to restore a number of Rages equal to your Wisdom modifier once per day.
  • The Brutal Critical feature now affects attacks that you make with thrown weapons and your Greatbow.

Staggering Salvo

At 14th level those who continue to defy your might will face an unyielding onslaught the longer their defiance persists. Aiming for vulnerable areas of your target, you hit your prey again and again with relentless volleys.

  • You have a second additional Rage added to your total Rages per day. Additionally, the number of Rages that can be spent per attack is now at a maximum of three.
  • While you are Raging, attacks with thrown weapons and your Greatbow against a single enemy inflict additional damage on successive attacks. This additional damage is equal to your Rage Damage bonus, and is added onto one consecutive damage roll once per turn on. Additionally, a huge or smaller creature has their speed lowered by 5 feet for each round the Staggering continues. These effects last until the target is undamaged from one of your Staggering Salvo attacks on your turn
