Base Class: Rogue
Yup, they can hit it.
Brimming with confidence, a Hotshot specializes in ranged combat, sending arrows and bolts and daggers towards their target with incredible precision. There's almost no enemy they can't hit, whether intentionally or not- hotshots have a firm grasp on how to take advantage of any opening, and how to turn missed opportunities into second chances. They bring this swagger into other areas of their adventuring career, knowing that if they can't charm their way out, they can shoot their way out if they have to.
Ricochet
Starting at 3rd level, you've learned to position yourself and aim so that you're in a place to hit even the most unexpected targets. When you miss an attack with a weapon that has the thrown or ammunition property, you can use a reaction to make an attack with that same ammunition/weapon that targets a different creature within 30 feet. You can use this proficiency times after a short rest.
Eagle Eye
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you've learned to stay relaxed in any situation, which lets you focus your sight and instincts on fine details and habits that others miss. Your ranged and thrown weapon attacks ignore partial cover, and you take no disadvantage on attacks for long range or attacking a prone target. You also gain advantage on Initiative and proficiency in Persuasion.
Critical Edge
Starting at 9th level, your confidence and swagger have grown, letting you not only prepare for failure, but also success. You can score a critical hit with thrown and ranged weapon attacks on a roll of 19-20, and you can use your Ricochet feature when you score a critical hit, the attack coming from the target hit.
Called Shot
By 13th level, your aim has become legendary- once you pick a target, few can evade the incoming attack. You can make a shot with a ranged or thrown weapon that forces the target to make a Dexterity save instead of targeting AC, hitting if they fail and scoring a critical hit if they fail the saving throw by more than 5. If the target succeeds on the saving throw, that counts as the attack missing. You can use this feature proficiency times after a long rest.
Make It Rain
When you reach 17th level, aiming, firing and reloading have become second nature to you. You can occasionally use this to maximize the efficiency of your firing, taking shots at blinding speed.
For one minute you can ignore the Loading and Ammunition and Reload properties of ranged weapons when you make an attack, and use your Ricochet feature for free. You must finish a long or short rest before using this feature again. You also have a +2 bonus to ranged weapon attacks.
