Bard
Base Class: Bard

Mourners use their musical gifts to honor the dead and ease the suffering of the living. Traveling from city to city and trained in all manner of funeral customs, mourners assist, and when necessary, replace priests in the performance of last rites.

Mourners believe in the sanctity of burial and are sworn enemies of grave robbers and, especially, necromancers. They view non-intelligent undead as victims and use special bardic music abilities to restore their eternal slumber, but they mercilessly hunt and destroy intelligent undead.

Bright Soul

At 3rd level, you can add your Charisma modifier to any saving throw made against Necromancy spells or spell like effects from undead.

Peaceful Slumber

At 3rd level, you can perform a ritual to grant a corpse protection against necromantic magic. You can spend 1 use of Bardic Inspiration and make a Performance check to initiate the ritual. The ritual takes 10 minutes and the corpse becomes permanently enchanted with an aura of protection. Anyone who attempts to cast a spell such as Raise Dead, Speak with Dead, or Resurrection on the corpse must succeed a Wisdom saving throw whose DC is the Performance check for the ritual. You can perform this ritual as many times as you wish but the DC will become the last Performance check you made, regardless of whether the Performance check has a higher or lower result.

Lament

At 6th level, you can stir an undead creature's soul with a lament to lost life laced with the magic of necromancy. As an action, you can spend 1 use of Bardic Inspiration. All undead creatures within 30 feet of you must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw or fall to their knees. They are considered prone and are rendered immobile as if the spell Hold Person had been cast on them. This effect lasts for 1 minute or until affected targets are attacked or take damage.

Go Gently

At 14th level, through your song you can sever the cords of negative energy that bind undead to the Material Plane. In the round immediately after the use of Lament, you can spend 1 use of Bardic Inspiration and make a Performance check. All creatures under the effect of Lament must make another Wisdom saving throw. Non-intelligent undead that fail are immediately destroyed and intelligent undead take damage equal to the Performance check. Go Gently counts as an attack and frees them from the effects of Lament.
