Paladin
Base Class: Paladin

The Oath of Discovery brings curious individuals across many lands in a search for knowledge.  Sometimes called starlight nomads, wandering scholars, or arcane knights, these paladins believe that the path to the greater good begins with knowledge and self discovery.  They believe that a persons life is a sum of their memories and the lessons they have learned, wanting all to have a full life.  They commonly decorate themselves with stars, writing, and mementos of their travels.

Tenets of Discovery

The tenets of the Oath of Discovery have been interpreted many different ways, but have kept some key values.

Learn. Through your findings you grow yourself and the world, shaping it for the better.

Protect What Has Been Learned. When knowledge is destroyed we all lose a piece of ourselves, and must work to regain it.

Help Others Learn.  While there are some secrets meant to be kept, it is better for more people to be enlightened

Bonus Cantrips

You may learn two cantrips from the wizard spell list.  They count as paladin spells when you cast them in this way.

Channel Divinity

Ward of Brilliance - As an action or reaction you can surround yourself with the weave. Until the end of your next turn you gain resistance to all damage and enemies within 10 feet of you take radiant damage equal to twice your Charisma modifier (with a minimum of 1).  This effect ends automatically if you fall unconscious.

Seeker of Knowledge- For 1 minute you can read all writing and speak all languages.

Aura of Vitality

Beginning at 7th level, the weave is so dense around you that it forms an aura of shielding.  You and friendly creatures within 10 feet can draw upon a pool of temporary hit points equal to your paladin level plus your charisma modifier (minimum of +1).  When you expend a spell slot the pool regains hit points equal to 5x the slot's level.

At 18th level this aura extends to 30 feet.

Never-ending Search

Your determination allows you to resist death.  At 15th level you gain the following benefits:

-You age 1 year for every 10.

-You have advantage on death saving throws.

-When you would normally become stable, you instead return to 1 hit point.

Superior Mystic

At 20th level, as action you can assume the form of an astral avatar, taking an appearance you choose.  For example, you may become surrounded by swirling runes, have a third eye open in your forehead, or become robed in starlight.  For one minute you gain the following benefits:

- You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.

-When you cast a paladin spell of 2nd level of lower that has a casting time of 1 action, you can cast it as a bonus action instead.

-You can concentrate on additional spells equal to 1/2 of your charisma modifier (rounding down, with a minimum of 1).

Once you use this ability you cannot use it again until a long rest.
