Base Class: Rogue
While others frittered away their time, you studied the blade. Ronin, shinobi, mercenaries professional duelists and other swordmasters typically follow this archetype. This style of combat emphasizes speed and a single decisive strike.
Sudden Slash
When you choose this archetype at 3rd level, you gain a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier. Additionally, you gain proficiency in the longsword, and it gains the finesse property for you. You can draw a finesse weapon as a part of making an attack with it.
Studied Blade
Starting at 3rd level, you learn to predict your opponent's moves. As a bonus action, you can make a Wisdom (Insight) check against a creature you can see that isn't incapacitated, contested by the target's Charisma (Deception) check. If you succeed, you have advantage on your next melee weapon attack against them until the start of your next turn.
Dangerous Reputation
At 9th level, your fame begins to proceed you. You are widely known as a swordmaster, and you can parley this attention into access to people and places you might not otherwise have, for you and your travelling companions. Noble lords, skilled duelists, and powerful criminals, amongst others, may be interested in knowing your intentions.
Parry
Also at 9th level, when a creature hits you with a melee attack, you can use your reaction to add your proficiency bonus to your AC for that attack, potentially causing the attack to miss you. You must be wielding or be able to draw a finesse weapon to use this reaction.
Deadly Rush
Starting at 13th level, you perfect the technique of striking as you pass your enemy.
If you move 30ft in a straight line, as an action you can declare a melee weapon attack against a creature that was within your reach during the last 20ft of this movement. After you finish your movement, it takes the damage of your attack, plus additional weapon damage equal to your level.
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and you regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest. If you reduce a creature to 0 hit points using this feature, you regain one use.
Riposte
Starting at 17th level when you use your Parry feature and the attacker misses you, you can make a melee weapon attack against them as part of the same reaction. On a hit, you can add your Sneak Attack damage.
