Base Class: Wizard
The Ministry of Defense Against Magical Malpractice may employ Mages of all schools and traditions but sometimes they need an agent to be a bit more in your face and physically active. In this case they have a special reserve of Agents who joined the force at a young age before they decided to walk down a path of wizardry that focused their expertise on a specific school. These Wizards who are simply referred to as Ministry Agents, have been trained to defend themselves more effectively and kill much more efficiently. A Ministry Agent is only deployed when The Ministry deems a suspect to be too illusive to be captured alive or a magical phenomenon too dangerous to study. Ministry Agents are proficient at ending all magical malpractice, from dispelling and counterspelling, to curse removal and exorcism, to simply elimination of those who oppose The Ministry. In the end all a Ministry Agent knows is death and destruction.
Tools of the Trade
2nd-level Ministry Agent feature
You gain proficiency with light armor, and Ministry Agent Gloves.
You also gain proficiency in the Performance skill if you don’t already have it.
Frightening Focus
2nd-level Ministry Agent feature
You can invoke a Ministry technique called Frightening Focus, provided that you aren’t wearing medium or heavy armor or using a shield. It graces you with supernatural speed, agility, and focus.
You can use a bonus action to enter a state of extreme focus, which lasts for 1 minute. It ends early if you are incapacitated, if you don medium or heavy armor or a shield, or if you use two hands to make an attack with a weapon. You can also dismiss the Frightening Focus at any time (no action required).
While your Frightening Focus is active, you gain the following benefits:
- You gain a bonus to your AC equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).
- Your walking speed increases by 10 feet.
- You have advantage on Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks.
- You gain a bonus to any Constitution saving throw you make to maintain your concentration on a spell. The bonus equals your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1).
You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus, and you regain all expended uses of it when you finish a long rest.
Extra Attack
6th-level Ministry Agent feature
You can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn. Moreover, you can cast one of your cantrips in place of one of those attacks.
Effective Defense
10th-level Ministry Agent feature
You can direct your magic to absorb damage while your Frightening Focus is active. When you take damage, you can use your reaction to expend one spell slot and reduce that damage to you by an amount equal to five times the spell slot’s level.
Efficient Killing
14th-level Ministry Agent feature
You can add your Intelligence modifier (minimum of +1) to the damage of your melee weapon attacks while your Frightening Focus is active.
