Base Class: Barbarian
Some Barbarians are able to harness their rage and power into protecting those around them. They're main goals involve keeping people safe, and they're better able to control their fighting and power to prevent those they care about from taking damage.
They can often take the place of caretaker within the place of their companions, and any damage to them can force their rage out.
Protector's Rage
Starting when you pick this path at 3rd level, your rage becomes acclimatised to your companions and it can be used to protect them. When an ally of yours takes damage before your first turn in combat, you are able to enter your rage as a reaction on their turn, rather than using a bonus action on your turn.
Fury of a Friend
Your rage is more prominent when your companions are hurt. As long as one of your ally's takes damage in that round, your rage will persist for a minute, without having to attack or be attacked on your turn.
Shield Protector
Your rage and need for your allies to be safe allows you to shield them from damage. When an ally within 10ft of you takes damage, you are able to use your reaction to reduce the amount of damage they take, and instead take it yourself. You also become resistant to this damage for that hit.
You can use this ability a number of times equal to your proficiency modifier every long rest.
Carrying Bodyguard
When your raging, and you are carrying an additional person with you, the adrenaline caused by your rage and need to protect people would allow you to keep your full walking speed when carrying or dragging someone with you, rather than halving your speed.
Defensive Attacker
From 14th level, when you take the damage from an attack to someone within 10ft of you, the full amount of damage (not reduced by resistence) can be added to the next attack you deal to the same enemy, and would be dealt with the same property as the damage that you normally do.
