Base Class: Barbarian
Rage consumes all. Turning a Barbarian’s world red, and painting every creature in it as a target. Barbarians of the Path of Consuming Rage extend that consuming nature beyond mere enhancement and into out right thievery, stealing the strengths of others. All power comes with a price however, and will consume their weaknesses as well. But caution is not part of your path. Consume all, and prove your Path is at the top of the food chain.
Siphoning Rage
3rd level Path of Consuming Rage feature
While Raging, you may take an action to grab onto a creature and steal a trait. You take on minor physical traits, one resistance, one action, and one vulnerability. The creature makes a Con save vs 8 + your proficency bonus + your Con modifier. On a fail they take 2d4 necrotic damage and fall prone. On a success they take half damage and suffer no other ill effects. The stolen traits last for 1 hour, and you may only drain one creature at a time. You may attempt to siphon a creature an amount of times per long rest equal to your proficiency bonus plus your Constitution modifier. A creature cannot be siphoned more than once per 24 hours.
Starting at 6th level, in addition to gaining one resistance, one action and one vulnerability, if the creature has class levels you may take one ability from the (sub)class levels it has.
At 10th level you may siphon 1 point of an Ability Score. The point is returned to the creature at the end of the time limit.
At 14th level you may siphon 1 point of two Ability Scores, and can have two siphoned creatures at once. The points are returned to the creature(s) at the end of the time limit.
Material Appearance
3rd level Path of Consuming Rage feature
You can absorb a trace amount of materials from objects to alter your appearance to appear in a similar color and texture to the object absorbed, granting you advantage on stealth checks in that environment for 1 hour. You do not need to be in a Rage to use this kind of absorption, but you lose it after 1 minute or after taking damage.
Continual Drain
6th level Path of Consuming Rage feature
When stealing a trait, you may opt to hold onto your quarry. This is considered a standard grapple check, but holding on for multiple turns continues the necrotic damage if they failed the initial check, and causes the stolen traits to last for a total number of hours equal to the number of rounds grappled times your proficiency bonus (if held for two or more turns).
Energy Replenish
10th level Path of Consuming Rage feature
While you siphon a creature, if they failed the initial saving throw, you heal for half the amount of the necrotic damage dealt.
Spell Siphon
14th level Path of Consuming Rage feature
If a creature within 5 ft of reach of you casts a spell, you may use your reaction to stop the spell. The creature makes an Intelligence saving throw vs 8 + prof bonus + Con modifier. If it fails the spell is canceled, and you absorb the spell. You may hold onto the spell for 1 hour, and cast it at the level it was absorbed, with the initial caster’s spell modifiers. You may only hold onto one spell at a time. This held spell has already been considered cast, so no material components (including those with a gold cost) are required. You may only cast this held spell while in a Rage.
