Base Class: Monk
The way of Pain is a path only opened to those who have experienced true agony. Monks who follow this path believe that the world is broken, torn apart by war and fighting, and that the only way to cure it is through the bonds and understanding formed by mutual suffering. They live by one motto: "This world shall know Pain." Monks following the Way of Pain have learned to harness their suffering and combine it with Ki energy, enabling them to manipulate gravity, energy, and eventually the balance of Life and Death.
Almighty Push
Starting at 3rd level, you are able to focus all of the pent up hatred and anger for those who have wronged you, and release it in a sphere of force. When you use this ability, you may expend a ki point to create a shockwave that causes each creature within 10 feet of you to make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they are pushed back, taking Force damage equal to your Monk dice, and half as much on a successful one.
In addition, you are able to expend additional ki points up to 5, increasing the damage by 1 monk dice for each point. You may also extend the range of your Almighty Push by 5 feet for each dice, if you choose.
Universal Pull
At 3rd level, you are able to use the void left by the Pain you've felt to further your purposes. As an action, you may expend 1 ki point to force 1 creature of your choice within 20 feet that you can see to make a Strength saving throw. On a fail, they are pulled up to 20 feet towards you, and knocked prone.
The range of your Universal Pull increases by 10 feet at 6th, 11th, and 17th level.
Rinnegan Eyes
The suffering you have endured has allowed you to see through the lies of this world. Starting at 6th level, you gain the following abilities:
You have advantage on Insight checks
Once per long rest, you are able to see the flow of Ki within an enemies body. Doing this allows you to determine whether the creature is Healthy (above 50% Hp), Weakened (Between 50% and 25%), or Injured (Below 25%). This ability can be strenuous on the users eyes, however, and gives the user Disadvantage on their next attack roll.
Know Pain
You have developed a close relationship with Pain. Because of this, it has become easier to bear. Starting at 11th level, when you take damage, you may expend 1 ki point to use your reaction and decrease the damage you take by 1 of your monk dice. In addition, when you are reduced to 0 hit points, as long as you have 1 ki point remaining, you may roll a d20. If the number rolled is below your monk level, you are instead reduced to 1 HP. You may do this a number of times equal to your constitution modifier (minimum of 1) per long rest.
Planetary Destruction
The sheer magnitude of your Pain is powerful enough to create celestial bodies, and to destroy those who stand in your way. Starting at 17th level, you are able to expend 5 ki points to lift a chunk from the earth into the air. This chunk may be a cube of any volume up to 30 x 30 x 30 feet. You may move it in any direction up to 60 feet per turn. This acts as a concentration spell, and can be held for up to 1 minute.
Alternatively, you may expend 8 Ki points to lift a Gargantuan chunk of earth that you can see within 200 feet into the air. At the end of your turn, the Chunk falls from the Heavens. Any creatures within a 60 foot radius of where it lands are hit by it suffer 20d8 Bludgeoning damage. Any creatures from 60-100 feet of the landing spot must make a Constitution saving throw. On a failed save, they suffer 10d8 force damage and are knocked prone, and on a successful they suffer half.
