Oath of the Weave

I swear to uphold the mysteries of magic and to preserve the balance of the Weave. I will use my power to protect those who wield the arcane arts and to root out those who would abuse them. I will be a champion of knowledge and truth, seeking always to expand my understanding of the arcane.

Tenets of the Weave

  • Preserve the Balance: The Weave is delicate and must be maintained. Use your power wisely and avoid disrupting the balance of magic.
  • Seek Knowledge: The pursuit of knowledge is essential to understanding the mysteries of the Weave. Seek out new knowledge and share it with others.
  • Protect the Arcane: Those who wield the arcane are often misunderstood and persecuted. Use your power to defend them and to ensure they can practice their art without fear.
  • Punish Abusers: Those who would use the arcane for selfish gain or to harm others must be stopped. Use your power to bring them to justice.

Channel Divinity

When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options:

Channel Magic. As an action, you can channel magical energy into your weapon or your body. For the next minute, your weapon attacks deal an extra 1d8 force damage, or you gain resistance to a damage type of your choice.

Disrupt Magic. As a reaction when you or a creature within 30 feet of you is targeted by a spell, you can use your Channel Divinity to disrupt the magic. Make an ability check using your spellcasting ability. The DC equals 10 + the spell's level. If you succeed, the spell's effects are negated. If the spell cannot be negated, the initial target has advantage on any saving throws against the spell's effects.

You gain oath spells at the paladin levels listed.

Spell Reflection

At 7th level, you gain the ability to reflect incoming spells back at their caster. Whenever you succeed on a saving throw against a spell that targets only you, you can use your reaction to cast the same spell back at the caster, using the spell slot you would have used to cast the spell normally. The spell counts as paladin spell for you in that instance.

Mystra's Mercy

Starting at 15th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you have resistance to damage from spells.

Avatar of the Weave

At 20th level, you can become an avatar of the Weave, tapping into the raw magical energy that flows through the multiverse. As an action, you can activate your Avatar of the Weave ability, which lasts for 1 minute. While active, you gain the following benefits:

  • You have resistance to all damage types except bludgeoning, piercing and slashing damage.
  • You have advantage on all saving throws you are proficient with.
  • You can cast any spell on the paladin spell list, regardless of whether you have prepared the spell or not, without requiring any material components. Casting a spell in this manner still consumes an appropriate spell slot.

Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
