Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Infusion are imaginative chefs that seek to reach new heights in the culinary arts by infusing magic into their dishes through performative acts. Some travel to exotic locals in search of ingredients never before incorporated into a dish. Some spend sleepless nights perfecting their own recipes in hopes of achieving a perfect example of a dish well-known to all. When the first bite is taken, the patron is guided through a magnificent journey of flavor. Those experiencing a meal from the most adept practitioners might even find themselves entering a memory or experiencing emotions that can only be described in flavor. Just as magic is utilized to enhance their culinary creations, these bards have been known to incorporate various techniques from their time in the kitchen into the casting of spells. Moreso than other bards, each movement and measure taken in preparation is done with precision and purpose.

Mise en Place

When you join the College of Infusion at 3rd level, you gain the ability to infuse dishes with magical energy. As a part of your daily preparations, you may expend a spell slot no greater than 1/3 your class level (rounded down) and prepare a dish infused with a spell you know cast at that level. Until your next long rest, any creature may consume this dish over the duration listed in the spell's casting time and may then immediately cast the spell chosen during your daily preparations. The creature uses its highest ability score as its spellcasting ability for the purpose of casting this spell. If the spell is not cast immediately after this meal is consumed, or the creature cannot finish the dish during the casting time, the spell is wasted, and there is no effect.

Rendered and Repurposed

At 6th level, you gain the ability to make use of leftover aspects of a spell. Whenever you cast a spell that targets a single creature and deals damage greater than a creature's remaining hitpoints or would heal a target for more hitpoints than it has missing, you may spend your bonus action to Render the leftover magic and Repurpose it into another target. Taking half of the remaining damage or healing (rounded up), choose another valid target to receive the remaining healing or damage (damage type stays the same as the spell that was cast).

Flambe a Point

At 14th level, you have honed your craft to a degree that eliminates some opportunities for failure. After repeatedly cooking and casting your creations, some of these have surpassed room for error. Once per long rest, you may expend 3 bardic inspiration die or your maximum amount of inspiration die (whichever is lesser) to force a creature to fail a saving throw against a spell you have cast. This spell can be no greater than 1/3 your bard level (rounded down).
