Base Class: Monk
Monks who walk the way of the mage hunter to find and punish those who use magic to bring chaos and suffering to the world. Mage hunters are trained to recognize magic and in multiple ways to defeat the ones who wield it.
As a mage hunter, you become more resilient against magic, as well as able to dispel it or prevent its casting.
Bonus Proficiencies
When you select this tradition at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in the Arcana skill.
Magical Resistance
At 3rd level, when you make a saving throw to resist a magical or spell effect, you can spend 1 ki point to gain advantage on that save.
Spellbreaker Blow
At 6th level, when a creature within your reach casts a spell, you can spend your reaction and 1 ki point to make one attack against it. If you hit, that creature must succeed a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or it fails at casting the spell (it does not regain the expended spell slot).
Fist of the Sundered Arcana
At 11th level, when you hit with an unarmed strike during your turn, you can spend 2 ki point to attempt to dispel a spell effect of your choice active on the attack's target. You must make a Wisdom check with a DC equal to 10 + the spell's level (if the effect's source isn't a spell, the DC is set at the DM's discretion) and end the spell on a success.
Improved Spellbreaker Blow
At 17th level, when a creature casts a spell within your movement speed, you can spend 2 ki points and your reaction to move adjacently to that creature and make an unarmed attack against it. You then make an unarmed strike against the creature. If you hit, that creature must succeed a Constitution saving throw (DC 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Wisdom modifier) or it fails at casting the spell (it does not regain the expended spell slot).
You cannot use this feature if there is no path that allows you to move to a space adjacent to that creature.
