Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

As a lifeguard, you use the BSA Buddy System to shine and help your buddy thrive next to you.

Lifesaving Tools Training

At 3rd level, you become proficient at using a Life Ring. This weapon counts as a light/thrown weapon for you. When wielding a quarterstaff, your reach becomes 10 ft. You also gain a swimming speed equal to your walking speed.

Life Ring- Melee or Ranged Weapon Attack: reach 5 ft. or range 20/30 ft., one target. Hit:  (1d4+ SRT) bludgeoning damage. On a critical hit, you may choose to pull the attacked creature up to 15 ft. towards you.

Buddy System

At 3rd level, you gain a swimming speed equal to your move speed.

As a free action during your turn, you may designate one or two allies as your buddy. If you have three or more buddies, you must choose to no longer be buddies with allies until you have two or less buddies. When you are within 15ft of a buddy, you may add 1d6 to a damage roll. You may only add this damage once per turn. If any buddy is not within 15 ft of you at the end of your turn, make a (DC 12) WIS saving throw. On a fail, you become nervous of being separated from your buddy and must use your next turn to use all reasonable recourses to be within 15 ft of your buddy. If you are not within 15 ft of your buddy by the end of the next turn, then you are no longer that person's buddy and cannot benefit from any ability that has "Buddy System" in its title for 10 minutes.

Buddy System Bond

At 7th level, when your buddy has is targeted for an attack or must make a saving throw, you may use your reaction to have them roll a d4 and add the result to their AC or saving throw. You may use this reaction equal to your WIS modifier (Minimum 1) and regain all uses after a long rest.

Due to your lifeguard ego, you also have advantage on saving throws against being charmed or frightened.

Inspiring Buddy System

At 11th level, all buddies that are within 15 ft of you have advantage on one attack roll per turn against creatures that are within your reach. You must have a quarterstaff equipped for buddies to receive this benefit. The buddy decides to roll with advantage before the attack is made.

Ultimate Buddy System

When applying the bonus damage from Buddy System, you may now add an additional 1d6 for a total of 2d6 of damage.

When within 15 ft. of you, your buddies may add 1d6 to a weapon damage roll. Each buddy may apply this extra damage once per turn. The creature the extra damage is applied to must be within your quarterstaffs reach and you must have a quarterstaff equipped.
