Base Class: Paladin
The Oath of Freedom ties paladins to the ideals of liberty and personal agency above all else. Paladins taking this oath resemble skirmishers and rakes more than they do knights in shining armor. They use their skills to free the oppressed and defend them from oppressors. Like other paladins, those that take the Oath of Freedom pursue the greater good, but they prefer to use cunning, mobility, and stealth to best their foes instead of raw strength.
Channel divinity
When you take this Oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two channel divinity options
Ranged Smite: As an action, you channel divine power into a ranged weapon you are holding. For the next minute, you can use divine smite on ranged attacks made with this weapon.
Escape Plan: As a bonus action, each creature you choose within 30 feet of you that can hear you can use their reaction to move up to 15 ft without provoking attacks of opportunity.
Aura of Evasion
Starting at 7th level, you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you do not provoke attacks of opportunity by moving.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 20 feet.
Jailbreaker
At 15th level, you gain proficiency in stealth and thieves tools
If you already have proficiency in either, your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses that skill or tool. Additionally, armor never imposes disadvantage on you when you use stealth
Avatar of liberty
At 20th level, as an action, you glow with divine power.
Using your action, you undergo a transformation. For 1 minute, you gain the following benefits:
- Your move speed is doubled and you cannot be affected by the restrained condition.
- Whenever you use divine smite, you can move up to your movement speed
- You can use divine smite with ranged weapon attacks.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.
