Fighter
Base Class: Fighter

In terms of power and notoriety, few beings across the planes of existence hold a candle to dragons; highly-intelligent, winged reptilians with armored hides and the ability to unleash destructive elemental breaths. Drakeblades are warriors who seek to emulate the powers of these legendary beings, achieving this either through arcane rituals, a draconic bloodline, tutelage under a draconic mentor, or through the imbibement of dragon blood.

Aspect of the Wyrm

Beginning when you choose this archetype at 3rd level, your connection to dragonkind has begun to manifest. You learn the thaumaturgy cantrip, and can speak, read and write Draconic. In addition, while you are wearing no armor and not wielding a shield, your AC equals 13 + your Dexterity modifier, as draconic scales protect your body.

Draconic Spark

Also at 3rd level, you’ve learnt how to wield and utilize draconic power in tandem with your martial prowess. Whenever you finish a long rest, choose one of the following damage types, which becomes your Draconic Spark; acid, cold, fire, lightning or poison damage. The chosen damage type remains your Draconic Spark until you choose to exchange it at the end of another long rest.

As a bonus action, you can choose to imbue a weapon you’re currently holding with the draconic energy inside you for 1 minute, or until you are killed. For the duration, the weapon counts as magical and all attacks made with it deal an additional 1d4 damage of the type associated with your Draconic Spark.

You can use this feature once per short rest.

Wyrm's Tongue

At 7th level, you possess a sliver of the formidable charisma of dragons. You gain proficiency in the Charisma (Intimidation) and Charisma (Persuasion) skills. In addition, whenever you make a Charisma ability check and fail, you can choose to immediately reroll the check. You must use the new roll.

You can use this feature a number of times equal to your proficiency bonus per long rest.

Improved Spark

At 10th level, your control over your draconic powers has increased. You gain resistance to the damage type you chose as part of your Draconic Spark feature. In addition, the damage of your Draconic Spark feature increases to 2d4.

Chromatic Wind

At 15th level, you can channel your draconic powers to release bursts of elemental energy. Whenever you use Second Wind while your Draconic Spark feature is active, you can force all creatures within 15 feet of you to make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. On a failed save, a creature takes an amount of damage of the same type as your Draconic Spark equal to the amount of hit points you regain. On a successful save, a creature takes half damage.

True Dragon

At 18th level, you’ve gained the mighty wings of a dragon and have become a frightening presence for your foes. You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed. In addition, whenever you roll initiative, you can force any creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you that can either see you or hear you to make a Wisdom saving throw against a DC of 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Charisma modifier. On a failed save, a creature is frightened of you for 1 minute. A frightened creature can reroll its saving throw at the end of each of its turns, ending the effect on a success. If a creature's saving throw is successful or the effect ends for it, the creature is immune to this feature for the next 24 hours.
