Druid
Base Class: Druid

The druids of the circle of monsters have accepted the philosophy that monsters are a part of nature, and must be treated as such. These druids have unlocked the secrets of more fluid wildshaping, able to warp and stretch parts of their body to a degree to better suit their needs. Circle of the monster druids are sometimes shunned by other circles, being told their abilities are “unnatural,” but really they are just jealous that they can turn into owlbears.

Invisible ability because D&D beyond is dumb

This is not a real ability but for some reason I need it to make this public.

Warped Wildshape

2nd-level Circle of Monsters feature.

You have learned how to twist your normal wildshapes into a horrifying new form. You can use your wildshape feature as a bonus action, rather than an action. Additionally when you wildshape, you can expend an additional use to mutate the form you take, choosing one of the following features:

  • Your wildshape’s melee attacks gain an additional 5 feet of reach, and you gain a bonus to attack and damage rolls equal to your wisdom modifier.
  • You gain temporary hit points equal to your Druid level, and can add your wisdom modifier to your armor class while in wildshape.
  • Your wildshape’s walking speed increases by 10 feet, and it gains either a climbing speed of 40 feet or a burrowing speed of 20 feet. Note this speed cannot move through solid stone or earth. At 4th level you can choose to give the wildshape a swimming speed of 40 feet, and at 8th level you can choose to give your wildshape a flying speed of 60 feet.

The feature you choose lasts as long as you remain in wildshape form.

Call of the Monsters

6th-level Circle of Monsters Feature.

You can extend your harmonious will to more than just beasts. As an action, you can magically compel a monstrosity within 30 feet of you that has an intelligence score of 5 or less to be your ally. If the monstrosity has a score of 6 or higher, the abilityfails. Otherwise, the monstrosity must succeed on a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC or be charmed by you for up to 8 hours, and you can command it on your turn (no action required). If you or one of your companions harms the target, the effect ends and the monstrosity may turn hostile. If the target succeeds, it is immune to this effect for 24 hours.

Additionally, you learn the tongues spell, and can cast it once without expending a spell slot. You regain this ability whenever you finish a long rest, and can use spell slots of the appropriate level to cast it again.

One With Monsters

10th-level Circle of Monsters Feature.

You have perfected your wildshaping and can take on new forms. When you use your wildshape feature, you can now transform into creatures with the monstrosity creature type. You must use the same restrictions as before, and you cannot use the creature’s legendary actions, lair actions, legendary resistances, or spellcasting features.

Additionally, the maximum challenge rating of creatures you can wildshape into increases to 2, and gain an additional wildshape use.

Summon Monstrosities

14th-level Circle of Monsters feature.

As an action, you can summon the spirits of monsters to aid you. The creatures appear in unoccupied spaces that you can see within 30 feet of you. Choose one of the following options for what appears:

  • One monstrosity of challenge rating 4 or lower
  • Two monstrosities of challenge rating 2 or lower
  • Four monstrosities of challenge rating 1 or lower
  • Eight monstrosities of challenge rating 1/2 or lower

Each monstrosity disappears when it drops to 0 hit points, and all monstrosities disappear after 1 hour, or until you lose your concentration (as if you were concentrating on a spell). The summoned creatures are friendly to you and your companions. The creatures go on your initiative count, but directly after you in any order you wish. They obey any verbal commands that you issue to them (no action required by you). If you don't issue any commands to them, they defend themselves from hostile creatures, but otherwise take no actions. Once you use this feature, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, or if you expend a spell slot of 5th level or higher.

Additionally, the maximum Challenge Rating of creatures you can transform into increases to 3.
