Base Class: Warlock
Your patron is the godlike being Primus. While Primus typically does not entrust non-modrons with carrying out his grand machinations, the most recent iteration of Primus has deemed outsourcing the responsibilities of establishing order and neutrality among the planes to mortals to be a worthy endeavor.
Due to his experience dealing with perfectly compliant modrons, Primus will expect you to operate as a seamless extension of his will. You may begin to become increasingly frustrated by the inconsistencies and chaotic imperfections of the mortal realm you inhabit. Your goal will be to right these wrongs, and to bring the multiverse closer to the orderly perfection and efficiency of modron society.
Expanded Spell List
The One and the Prime lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.
One and the Prime Expanded Spells
| Spell Level | Spells |
|---|---|
| 1st | command, identify |
| 2nd | locate object, zone of truth |
| 3rd | clairvoyance, sending |
| 4th | arcane eye, locate creature |
| 5th | legend lore, telepathic bond |
Law of Averages
Starting at 1st Level, you may use the average damage result for attacks and spells. For example, an attack that normally deals 1d10+5 can instead deal 10 damage, or a Fireball spell can deal 24 damage instead of 8d6 when cast at 3rd Level.
Summon Modron
Starting at 1st Level, you can call upon a modron to aid you in your adventures. As an action, you can summon a modron of the type indicated in the Modron Type table. The modron may be of a type available to a Warlock of your level or lower. It is friendly to you and your companions, and it obeys your commands. See its game statistics in the Monster Manual.
In combat, the modron shares your initiative count, but it takes its turn immediately after yours. It does not move or take actions on its turn, unless you take a bonus action on your turn to command it to move and/or take an action. It can take no reactions, unless you use your reaction to command it to take a reaction. Its action can be one in its stat block or some other action. If you are incapacitated, the modron cannot move, take actions or reactions.
The modron remains until it is reduced to 0 hit points, until you die or until you summon another. Anything the modron was wearing or carrying is left behind when the modron vanishes, other than the items it arrived with.
Once you summon a modron, you can’t do so again until you finish a long rest, unless you expend a spell slot of 1st level or higher to summon it.
Modron Type
| Warlock Level | Modron Type |
|---|---|
| 1st | Monodrone |
| 3rd | Duodrone |
| 5th | Tridrone |
| 7th | Quadrone |
| 9th | Pentadrone |
Detect Imbalance
Starting at 6th Level, you can open your awareness to detect evil, good and/or chaotic creatures. As an action you may gain insight as to the alignment of any creature within 60 feet of you that you can see. You know if the creature is chaotic, and if it is you do not know whether it is good or evil, as its tendencies are too unpredictable for you to get a more accurate read on them. If the creature is not chaotic, you know whether they are good or evil. Otherwise, you gain no insight as to their alignment.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or Long Rest.
Axiomatic Mind
Starting at 10th Level, you are immune to the charmed condition and magic that would compel you to act against your will. Examples include the Command and Dominate Person spells.
Cogs of the Great Machine
Starting at 14th Level, if a modron is within 60 feet of you when you are reduced to 0 hit points and thereby fall unconscious, you can cause the modron to drop to 0 hit points. You then regain a number of hit points equal to the maximum hit points of the modron and immediately rise to your feet.
Once you use this feature, you can’t use it again until you finish a short or Long Rest.
Also, Monodrones you summon no longer disappear when you take a rest, or when you summon another modron. You may command any number of Monodrones as a bonus action with the Summon Modron ability.
