Base Class: Rogue
Rogues who train as Thunderblades pour everything they have into a single decisive strike, screaming towards their opponents like a bolt from the blue. The incredible speed of their attacks can even generate arcs of lightning and claps of thunder. These rogues usually favor the sword as a conduit for this power, often drawing, swinging, and sheathing their weapon all within the blink of an eye, felling their enemies before they even know they are in danger.

Calm Before the Storm
At 3rd level, when you choose this archetype, you develop a spiritual connection to storms, and the stillness that precedes them. You learn the druidcraft cantrip, and gain proficiency in the Perception skill if you don’t already have it. Your proficiency bonus is doubled for any ability check you make that uses this proficiency.
Flashing Blade
Also at 3rd level, you master the signature strike of the Thunderblade. As an action, you can move in a straight line up to a distance equal to your movement speed without provoking opportunity attacks. During this movement, you ignore difficult terrain, and can pass through spaces occupied by creatures or objects of medium size or smaller, though you must end your movement in an unoccupied space.
Once during this movement, if you are within 5 feet of a creature, you can make a single melee attack against that creature. This attack can benefit from your Sneak Attack even if you do not have advantage on the attack, unless you have disadvantage on the attack, and the additional damage you deal can be lighting or thunder damage. All the other rules for Sneak Attack still apply.
Shocking Speed
Starting at 9th level, your bladework is so swift that it is almost imperceptible. Your weapon attacks do not trigger other creatures' reactions, such as a knight’s parry or a mage’s shield spell.
Static Cling
By 13th level, your rapid footfalls are charged with electricity. You gain the ability to move along vertical surfaces and across liquids on your turn without falling during your movement.
Dendritic Discharge
At 17th level, you can unleash the full might of a lightning strike onto the battlefield. If you haven’t moved or used a bonus action on your turn, you can use your Flashing Blade action to move a distance equal to three times your movement speed. This movement does not need to be in a straight line, but gains the other benefits from that feature.
Roll half of your Sneak Attack dice, rounded down. Each creature of your choice that you come within 5 feet of during this movement must make a Dexterity saving throw against a DC equal to 8 + your proficiency bonus + your Dexterity modifier. On a failed save, they take lightning or thunder damage equal to the Sneak Attack damage you rolled, or half as much on a successful save.
After you take this action, your bonus action is expended and your speed is 0 until the end of the current turn. You have one use of this feature, which you regain when you finish a short or long rest.
