Base Class: Druid
Druids of the Circle of Frosted Flame harness the paradoxical power of both biting frost and scorching flame, embodying the harsh beauty and fierce balance of elemental extremes. These rare guardians draw strength from the stark contrasts of ice and fire, channeling cold and heat in tandem to protect the natural order and smite those who threaten it.
Within frozen tundras and blazing volcanic slopes alike, Circle of Frosted Flame druids wield shimmering frost that burns like embers and flames that chill to the bone. Their magic crackles with raw elemental energy—Rimefire—that can freeze enemies solid or sear through the toughest defenses. These druids understand that destruction and renewal are intertwined, and their powers reflect the eternal dance between ice’s stillness and fire’s wild passion.
Whether cloaked in swirling blizzards of burning snow or summoning rimefire to shield allies, these druids stand as living embodiments of elemental duality—resilient, unpredictable, and awe-inspiring. The Circle of Frosted Flame teaches that to master nature’s extremes is to embrace both the cold silence of winter and the fierce roar of flame, shaping the battlefield as effortlessly as the shifting seasons.
Circle Spells
Your ability to harness the Rimefire gives you access to certain spells. You are able to prepare spells from the Cleric, Sorcerer, Warlock, and Wizard classes and prepare them as though they were Druid spells, however, the spell must deal either cold or fire damage.
Cold-Acclimated
At 2nd level, you feel comfortable in temperatures as low as -50°. You no longer feel burdened by the terrain in cold biomes, you ignore difficult terrain caused by ice or snow. Additionally, you have advantage on Survival checks to track creatures while within the Tundra.
Secret of the Rimefire
Starting at 2nd level, you learn how to use Rimefire. Rimefire appears as pale blue flame that chill rather than burns. It can freeze water like normal cold magic, but can also ignite substances that normal fire can. Instead of charring such substances, it damages them by transforming them to ice. It can be extinguished like normal fire.
Whenever you cast a druid spell that normally deals cold damage or fire damage, you can make it a Rimefire spell. Rimefire spells deal cold damage.
You can add your Wisdom modifier (minimum of +1) to the damage roll of any Rimefire spell that you cast.
Finally, you learn Produce Flame and one other cantrip from either the Cleric, Sorcerer, Warlock, or Wizard class that deals cold or fire damage. They are Rimefire spells and don't count against the limit on the number of cantrips you know. You can also spend a bonus action to manipulate Rimefire as if with the Control Flames cantrip.
Power over the Frozen Flame
At 6th level, you gain resistance to cold damage. Your Rimefire spells ignore resistance to cold damage.
Frozen Heart
At 10th level, your body is infused with the essence of the Rimefire. You gain resistance to fire damage and immunity to cold damage.
Mastery over the Frozen Flame
Starting at 14th level, when you damage a creature with a Rimefire spell, it treats a creature's immunity to cold as though they were resistant instead.
Pure Essence
Also at 14th level, you can dash around the battlefield while igniting your foes. As an action, you can expend a use of Wild Shape to turn into pure Rimefire and move up to your speed. This frees you from being grappled or restrained. This movement does not provoke opportunity attacks and ignores difficult terrain.
While moving, you can pass through a space as narrow as 1 inch wide without squeezing. You can also pass through other creatures. Any creatures you pass through must make a Dexterity saving throw against your spell DC. Creatures that fail take cold damage equal to your druid level and catch Rimefire; until someone takes an action to douse it, the creature takes cold damage equal to your Wisdom modifier at the start of each of its turns. Creatures that succeed take half damage and do not catch Rimefire.
