Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks studying the Way of The Ethereal become masters of the intangible, able to move through the material and immaterial as one. This aids them to be pacifists for those who do not wish to do harm and remain invulnerable for long periods of time. They stay in deep meditation, at times becoming fully aware of their surroundings but unable to be perceived by even the most observant of people.

Those monks that choose to use this power to ward off enemies find themselves eager to spot weak points in the enemies' stance and take full advantage of it. They are a force to be reckoned with when met on the battlefield.

Observant Nature

3rd-level Way of The Ethereal feature

You gain proficiency in the Investigation and Perception skills from your studies as you often seek out weak points in an enemies' stance

Ethereal Jaunt

3rd-level Way of The Ethereal feature

You move through the ethereal plane and strike by surprise using your movement speed as normal. While in the ethereal plane, you may move through enemy space but you may not end your movement there. Furthermore, if you enter the ethereal plane and move away from the enemy, they have disadvantage on any opportunity attacks. Once you reappear, your next attack in the same turn is made with advantage and you add your WIS modifier to the damage roll. You may do this a number of times per turn equal to your proficiency bonus.

Undetectable

6th-level Way of The Ethereal feature

You may use an action to expend 3 ki points and enter the ethereal plane for up to 10 minutes. While in this state, you can see and hear as normal but can only be perceived by a creature with True Sight. You are unable to touch or be touched by a creature on the material plane while in this state. You may return to the material plane at any time using a bonus action

Element of Surprise

11th-level Way of The Ethereal feature

Your quick wit allows you to strike harder when attacking by surprise. When you hit your enemy after using your Ethereal Jaunt feature, you crit on a roll of 19 and 20. Furthermore, if you use your Stunning Strike feature after making an Ethereal Jaunt, the enemy has disadvantage on the saving throw.

Planar Transportation

17th-level Way of The Ethereal feature

You become able to bring another creature with you to the ethereal plane momentarily. You may use an action to spend any amount of ki points and target a creature within 5 ft of you that you make contact with. You transport the targeted creature to the ethereal plane. If they are unwilling, they must pass a CHA saving throw. If not, they become stuck in the ethereal plane for the same number of rounds as the number of ki points you spent to send them there. They may move and take actions but have no effect on anything or anyone in the material plane. When they return to the material plane, if they are in a space occupied by another creature or an object, they are shunted to the nearest free space, taking 1d10 force damage for every 5ft they are moved.
