Bard
Base Class: Bard

Bards of the College of Forefathers revel in the historical acts and achievements of their ancestors, whether they were great adventurers, warriors or mages. The College of Forefathers teaches students that there is strength in their lineage, and assists them in using that strength for themselves.

Bonus Proficiencies

When you join the College of Forefathers at 3rd level, you gain proficiency in medium armor and martial weapons.

Blade of the Forefather

Beginning at 3rd level, you learn to call upon your ancestral power while in battle. As an action, you may summon a ghastly weapon in an unoccupied space up to 30 ft away from you. The weapon must be a melee weapon (of your choice) that is representative of the weapon that your ancestor used in battle. The weapon occupies its own space, shares initiative with you, and takes its turn immediately after yours. Whatever the weapon may be, it uses the stat block of the Flying Sword (use the damage die of the intended weapon, d8 for longsword, 2d6 for greatsword, etc). Once summoned, the weapon remains under your control for 1 minute, or until it is destroyed, or you fall unconscious. You may use this ability a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier per long rest.

Extra Attack

Beginning at 6th level, you can attack twice, instead of once, whenever you take the Attack action on your turn.

Strength of the Forefather

At 14th level, when you use your Blade of the Forefather ability, you may choose to wield the weapon instead of having it occupy its own space. If you choose to do so, it becomes a +2 magical weapon and uses Charisma for attack and damage rolls. While wielding the sword, you gain advantage on saving throws against spells and magical effects. You also gain advantage on Charisma (Intimidation) checks while wielding the weapon.

Additionally, when you use your Bardic Inspiration while wielding the weapon, the target of the inspiration may choose to use the die for attack, damage, saving throw, or ability check rolls; or to roll the die on their turn as a healing ability, healing the number rolled on the die.
