Druid
Base Class: Druid

There are many who feel that the power of nature stops where the wilderness ends and civilisation begins. This is, to put it gently, quite naïve. Nature stops for no work of mortal hands. Her seeds find purchase in the cracks of pavements. Her beasts make homes in the roofs and sewers and streets and skirting boards. Her waters run through every gutter and gully, drain and sewer, river and street. And we, too, are but her beasts, and we, too, bear her mark and her power. Wherever mortals build, no matter how great and expansive their cities, there too nature dwells, as intrinsically as anywhere else. The city is no barrier to a druid’s power, so long as they remember this fundamental truth.

Druids of the Circle of the City do remember it, and remember it well.

Circle Spells

The magic and environment of the city has a unique flavour. Your connection with it grants you access to some spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Circle of the City Spells table.

At 3rd, 5th, 7th, and 9th level you gain access to the spells listed for that level in the Circle of the City Spells table. Once you gain access to one of these spells, you always have it prepared, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can prepare each day. If you gain access to a spell that doesn’t appear on the druid spell list, the spell is nonetheless a druid spell for you.

Industrial Magic

Your exposure to the energy and magic of cities has allowed your natural magic to flow in spite of material barriers.

Starting at 2nd level, your choice of armor and shields is not limited by material.

Eyes of the City

When you choose this circle at 2nd level, your connection with the urban environment allows you to summon an urban familiar. You learn the Find Familiar spell. It counts as a druid spell for you, and it doesn’t count against the number of spells you can have prepared. When you cast this spell, your familiar takes one of the following urban forms of your choice: bat, cat, rat or raven.

Your range for communication with your familiar is increased. You can communicate telepathically with your familiar and perceive through your familiar’s senses as long as it is within 10 miles of you. Additionally, while perceiving through your familiar’s senses, you can also speak through your familiar in your own voice, even if your familiar is normally incapable of speech.

Genius Loci

The magic of cities breeds a dense awareness of the life that surrounds you, regardless of physical barriers. Beginning at 6th level, you can channel this awareness more consciously. As an action, you can immerse your senses in the magic around you, and learn the location and type of every living creature within 60ft of you (you cannot sense undead creatures or constructs by this method). Creatures cannot benefit from cover or invisibility against this sense.

At the end of your turn, you can choose to extend this awareness by sustaining it with concentration, as if concentrating on a spell, for up to 1 minute. This awareness then ends early if you lose concentration or if you dismiss it (no action required).

You can use this ability a number of times equal to your Wisdom modifier, and regain all expended uses when you finish a long rest.

Industrial Resilience

It takes time and endurance, but plants and animals can adapt to survive the rigours and pollution of even the toughest urban environments. Now, so can you. Starting at 10th level, whenever you finish a short or a long rest, choose one of the following damage types: acid, poison, fire, thunder, slashing, piercing or bludgeoning. You gain resistance to that damage type until you choose a different one with this feature. This resistance carries into your Wild Shape. Damage from magical or silver weapons ignores this resistance.

This type of feature is not mechanically supported on the site; you will have to remember to apply your resistance manually.

Clash and Clamor

Starting at 14th level, you can express your wrath towards a creature by granting it a concentrated taste of the environment that produced you, all the clash, clamour and pollution of the city. As an action, make a melee spell attack against a creature that you can reach. On a hit, that creature takes 14d6 damage of your choice of one of the following types: bludgeoning, thunder or poison.

Alternatively, if your urban familiar is within 100ft of you, you can use your action to command it to deliver this effect in the same manner it would deliver a spell with a range of touch, using your attack modifier.

Once you have used this ability, you cannot use it again until you have finished a long rest.

Please disregard this.

A 3rd level class feature is required to be published despite not being a part of the officially released subclasses.
