Warlock
Base Class: Warlock

Your patron is a rare, powerful creature, perhaps the last
of its kind. It is foreign to this world or incredibly ancient,
and to remain healthy, it must take up residence inside a
host. In compensation, it offers immense power and
eldritch secrets to the creature that carries it. You took this
creature's bargain willingly, accepted the creature's power,
and invited its voice into your head.

Parasitic Growth

Starting at 1st level, you graft a parasite to your body that resembles a cancerous tumor. The parasite covers part of your body, granting protection from attacks. While not wearing armor, your Armor Class is equal to 13 plus your Dexterity modifier.

In addition, you can feed your parasite some of your power to fortify your body. You can expend a spell slot as a bonus action to gain temporary hit points equal to 5 times the level of the spell slot expended. These temporary hit points last until you finish your next short rest.

Expanded Spell List

The Great Old One lets you choose from an expanded list of spells when you learn a warlock spell. The following spells are added to the warlock spell list for you.

The Parasite Expanded Spells
Spell Level Spells

1st

inflict Wounds, longstrider

2nd

detect thoughts, spider climb

3rd

bestow curse, haste

4th

death ward, phantasmal killer

5th

dominate person, telekinesis

Pseudopod

Starting at 6th level, your parasite grows a tentacle-like pseudopod. When you take the Attack action, you can attack with the pseudopod once in place of one of your normal attacks. The pseudopod has a reach of 10 feet and uses your spellcasting modifier to attack. An enemy hit by your pseudopod takes bludgeoning damage equal to 1d8 plus your Charisma modifier and 1d8 necrotic damage.

If you use the Cast a Spell action, you can make an attack with your pseudopod as a bonus action. Additionally, if you do not make an attack with our pseudopod on your turn, you can take the Use an Object action as a bonus action.

Parasitic Spellcasting

Starting at 10th level, you can draw upon your parasite to power your spellcasting. You can cast any warlock spell you know without expending a spell slot. When you do this, you take necrotic damage equal to twice the spell’s level. This damage cannot be reduced in any way, and your hit point maximum is reduced by the same amount. This reduction lasts until you finish a long rest.

Parasitic Infection

At 14th level, when you successfully hit an opponent with your pseudopod, you can infect them with a swarm of tiny parasites. The target must make a Constitution saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failed save, the target becomes poisoned for the duration. While it is poisoned, at the start of each of the target's turns, the target must succeed at a Constitution save or take 5d10 necrotic damage. On a successful save, the target is no longer poisoned.

Once you have used this ability, you cannot use it again until you complete a long rest.
