Bard
Base Class: Bard

The bar is quiet, the only sounds being the patrons sorrowfully sipping from their drinks and the light tune from the bard. The patrons are stuck feeling like this, under the thumb of the musician for as long as he plays. Perhaps he will let go of their hearts, perhaps he will shatter their hearts instead.

Beauty in Failure

Starting at 3rd level you learn to find the uses of failures in allies around you.

When either you or an ally rolls a 1 on any dice roll, you may use your reaction to convert that 1 into a Note of Sorrow.

This Note of Sorrow is stored within a book or other object.

You may hold an amount of Notes of Sorrow equal to your Level in Bard.

You may expend 2 Notes of Sorrow to grant advantage or disadvantage to any creature you can see within 60 feet of you.

At 10th level the amount of Notes of Sorrow you can hold becomes equal to your Level in Bard x 2.

Pelted By Sorrow

as an Action you can expend 3 Notes of Sorrow to force a creature to make a Wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure the creature falls prone and weeps uncontrollably for 1 minute. At the start of their turn they can use an action to attempt the save again, ending the condition on a success. The creature can also attempt the save at advantage whenever it takes damage.

Dreadful Reenactment

you’ve developed different routines that evolve different effects to those who hear them. As an action you can expend one use of your Bardic Inspiration to perform a dreaded performance which lasts until the end of your turn.

On subsequent turns you can use your action to extend this performance for up to 1 minute. While performing, your movement speed is halved and you must maintain concentration as if concentrating on a spell, however this does not end an already active concentration spell.

  • Sorrowful Dirge: When you begin this performance, any creatures of your choice within 60 feet of you, that can also hear you, must make a Wisdom saving throw. Whenever a target that fails this saving throw makes an attack roll, skill check, or saving throw must roll a d4 and subtract it from their roll.
  • Adagio of Grief: When you begin this performance, one creature within 60 feet of you that can hear you must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure the creature is put under the effects of the Confusion spell until the performance ends.
  • Requiem of Horror: When you begin this performance, all creatures within 60 feet of you, that can also hear you, must make a Wisdom saving throw. On a failure, a creature is under the effects of the Fear spell until the performance ends or until the creature moves more than 60 feet from the bard.

Death Throes

you compel those who have fallen to give forth their climactic end. When a humanoid you can see dies within 60 feet of you, you can use your reaction to ensnare the soul of that creature. It rises as a specter with temporary hit points equal to your Bard level. It has its own initiative, and obeys your verbal commands. Specters conjured using this feature fade into the afterlife after you finish a long rest. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your Charisma modifier. You regain all uses of this feature when you finish a long rest.
