Base Class: Monk
A path for those with single minded devotion to the blade.
Chosen Blade
At 3rd level, you forge a special connection to a longsword. Once chosen, it cannot be changed unless your original sword is lost or broken. While wielding your chosen blade, you treat it as an unarmed strike for stunning strike, martial arts, and ki strike.
Focused Deflection
At 3rd level, you gain the ability to tire an opponent with timed parries, and use the opening to your benefit. As a reaction to being targeted with a melee attack, you can spend a ki point to add +2 to your AC against the attack. If the attack misses you, your first chosen blade attack on your next turn against that creature gets a bonus to the attack roll equal to your Wisdom modifier (min of +1). The bonus to AC increases to 3 at 6th level, 4 at 11th, and 5 at 17th.
Deadly Blow
At 6th level, your strikes cause intense blood loss, thwarting attempts to heal them. When you deal damage to a creature with an attack from your chosen blade, you can spen 2 ki points to prevent the target from recovering any hit points until the end of its next turn. Creatures that don't bleed are immune to this effect.
Death's Dance
Even the strongest assaults break against your defense. When you use Focused Deflection, the bonus to AC applies to all of the targeted creature's attacks againat you this turn. If you then hit them with your chosen blade on your next turn, roll a number of martial arts dice equal to the amount of attacks avoided, then add it to your damage roll.
One Mind
At 17th level, you gain the ability to unleash a ki-empowered flurry of slashes so fast they are imperceptible. As an action you can force one creature of your choice within 5 feet of you to make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC. The target has disadvantage on the save if it was affected by Focused Parry on it's last turn. On a failed save, the creature takes 10d10 force damage and are blinded until the end of their next turn. On a successful save, they take half as much and aren't blinded. You must finish a long rest before you can use this feature again.
