Monk
Base Class: Monk

Your innate power comes from the quantum entanglements that tie each universe to the next. Others that share your power can trace their magic back to years of transcendental meditation and unburden skeptical thought, but perhaps you were born during a solar eclipse or experienced an event so bizarre your thoughts were detached from your mind. In any case, you have gained the ability to pluck threads from the tapestry of the multiverse and resew them at your will.

You exist as one of a group of identical individuals transcends the boundaries of space and time, forging a profound quantum connection that spans across multiple coexisting universes within the multiverse. Each individual exists as a distinct manifestation, yet they share a fundamental entanglement that allows for instantaneous communication and synchronization of experiences, knowledge, and consciousness. This intricate web of interdimensional connections intertwines their lives, enabling them to collectively explore the vast expanse of the multiverse, harnessing its limitless possibilities and enriching their understanding of reality itself.

You are an agent of chaos in the multiverse, and are often hunted by the universal forces of justice — especially benevolent dragons, fey, and elementals — that work to preserve life and the order of the planes.

This is the Way

3rd-level Way of the Entangled  feature

Starting at 3rd level, you have unlocked a connection to a quantum entanglement of your soul. Each individual in the entanglement exists as a distinct manifestation, yet they share a fundamental entanglement – a collective soul – that allows for instantaneous communication and synchronization of experiences, knowledge, and consciousness.

As a reaction on your turn, you can benefit from the collective wisdom of the entanglement and gain one of the following effects:

  1. Expend 1 ki point to gain blindsight with a range of 60 feet for 1 minutes.
  2. Expend 1 ki point after a trap is sprung but before learning the effect to disarm the trap and negate its effect.
  3. Expend 2 ki points after a die is rolled (by friend or foe) to make a skill check or saving throw to turn the die face to show a 10.
  4. Expend 2 ki points to “guess” any specific number up to 5-digits long after two attempts. This can be the combination to a lock, a number that someone is thinking, or the number of apples in a barrel, etc.

You can’t use this feature again until you finish a short rest.

Blessing of the Fraas

3rd-level Way of the Entangled feature

Starting at 3rd level, your connection to the entanglement makes you difficult to defeat. You have halted the aging process, and you gain proficiency in Insight and Perception. when damage reduces you to 0 hit points, you can make a Wisdom saving throw (DC 5 + the damage taken). On a success, you instead drop to 1 hit point. You can’t use this feature if you are reduced to 0 hit points by a critical hit.

After the saving throw succeeds, you can’t use this feature again until you finish a long rest.

Quantum Leap

3rd-level Way of the Entangled  feature

At 3rd Level, you have unlocked the ability to reorient yourself in the multiverse. As a last-ditch effort to achieve your goals, you can inhabit the existence of another soul in the entanglement. One whose ambitions align with your own, but has had slightly better fortune.

Once per long rest, you can alter any number of events that occurred in the past 30 seconds, up to the DMs discretion. The altered events can range from the small and mundane -- like changing the roll in a game of dice -- to the extraordinary -- like changing a critical hit that killed a party member into a critical failure. These events will not need to be relived as you will not be reversing the flow of time. Instead, you will describe the events you would like to changes, and the new outcome of said events.

From the perspective of the rest of the party, small leaps may be accompanied by the sound of a whisp of the wind or the smell of slight char. Larger leaps may be accompanied by the sound of a stampede, or a blinding flash of light. The DM will choose the flavor of the leap effects, and how they manifest at the time of the leap.

You will gain levels of exhaustion corresponding to the reach of the leap. For example, changing a 5 to a 4 in a game of Liar’s Dice will incur 1 level of exhaustion, or no exhaustion penalty at all. Alternatively, changing a chance encounter with a pack of hungry dire wolves into a chance encounter with a troupe of friendly bards will incur 3 or 4 levels.

You alone will inhabit this new existence. The members of your new party will be precisely identical to the members of your existing party, with the exception of their altered experiences from the last 30 seconds. For the sake of convenience, all PCs may use the same characters sheets to control their new characters.

This feature becomes more powerful at 11th and 17th levels...

Wisdom of the Entangled

6th-level Way of the Entangled  feature

Starting at 6th level, as a bonus action, you can double your Wisdom modifier for a number of rounds equal to your monk level, rounded down.

Superimposed

11th-level Way of the Entangled  feature

At 11th level, your connection to the quantum fabric of reality deepens, granting you an extraordinary ability to transcend the limitations of solid matter. Through intense focus and harnessing the entangled energies within, you can achieve a state of perfect alignment with the multiverse.

As an bonus action, you can enter a quantum superposition state, allowing you to phase shift through solid objects with unparalleled grace. In this superimposed state, you retain your physical form, yet exist simultaneously within and without the solid object. You can move up to your normal movement speed in any direction, seamlessly weaving through walls, doors, or any other obstacle that would typically obstruct passage.

While in this superimposed state, you can see and hear your surroundings as though you were outside the solid object, but you cannot interact with the physical world. You cannot attack, pick up objects, or affect anything around you. Your ethereal presence remains intangible, impervious to harm from non-magical sources while inside a solid object. Superposition lasts for a number of minutes equal to your monk level, and you can end it at any time as a bonus action. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before using it again.

Divine Mimicry

17th-level Way of the Entangled  feature

At 17th level, you can request any knowledge from the Entanglement. You can gain the effect of casting the Divination spell. Once you use this feature, you must finish a long rest before using it again.
