Monk
Base Class: Monk

Monks of the Way of Altruism walk a path that cherishes compassion and selflessness. These monks may be known as caretakers or light bearers, dedicating themselves to serving and uplifting others. Often, the members of an altruistic monastery form a close-knit community, bound by a shared commitment to spreading kindness and support. Their actions are fueled by a desire to alleviate suffering and bring about positive change in the world. Rather than being hidden in secrecy, these monasteries are beacons of hope, openly offering their aid to those in need. They extend their services not only to individuals but also to communities, seeking to uplift the marginalized and forgotten. Their teachings emphasize the power of empathy and the transformative potential of acts of goodwill.

Selfless Assistance

3rd-level Way of Altruism feature

You begin to think more about others than yourself in favor of victory, supplying other party members with additional resources instead of caring about yourself.

As a bonus action, you can start to Assist a friendly creature within the range of your remaining movement speed, while using Assist on somebody/something you always stay within 5 ft. of them and move while they move in addition to your turn. If they move somewhere, you can choose which square within 5 ft. you stand on after following them.

While using Assist you can use the help action as a reaction or can use your reaction to attack if the person you're following does so as well.

Additionally, if a creature within melee range attacks the person you're assisting you can use 1 Ki point and roll an Acrobatics check (DC 8 + hit modifier of enemy), on a success you may take half of the damage yourself.

The Art of Kindness

6th-level Way of Altruism feature

You may choose from the following arts of Kindness at 6th and 12th level:

The Art of Care

When using Assist on someone, you and them are Immune to the Frightened, Charmed, and Poisoned condition.

If you stop assisting them they and you will be affected by the remaining time of the condition.

The Art of Charity

You can choose to take damage to up to half your current hp at once and heal someone within 5 ft. by double that amount.

The Art of Gratitude

When receiving a beneficial effect from any creature (Healing, Buffs, Temp hp, etc.) you can either heal them for 1d10 or grant them 1d4 temp hp.

This increases at 10th, 14th and 18th level.
10th level: 2d10 healing / 1d8 temp hp
14th level: 3d10 healing / 2d8 temp hp
18th level: 3d12 healing / 3d8 temp hp

The Art of Protecting

When using Assist to take half the damage of an attack you will instead prevent all damage to the person you're protecting but you still take half damage.

Selfless Strike

11th-level Way of Altruism feature

You begin to think about your loved ones and what you wish to protect more during combat, making you want to make sure that they're safe even if you yourself are in danger.

When attacking you can choose to use 1 Ki point to give yourself advantage on the next attack and damage roll. In return, you will take one additional dice of damage from the next attack that hits you.

Altruistic Influence

17th-level Way of Altruism feature

You show your selflessness and kindness in a way that inspires the people around you.

You can use 1 Ki point to cast Calm Emotions (Charisma Save DC 16) and creatures affected by it will not continue fighting until the spell is broken  (They are still your enemies, they just refuse to attack. If you cast this on a different group of creatures the spell ends immediately for the first group.

Alternatively, you can spend 3 Ki points to give every member of your party inspiration and heal them for 1d10 hp.
