Wizard
Base Class: Wizard

For many, the worship of a god is a moral pursuit, an aligning of their will with the principles of their god. For you and others, it is a scholarly pursuit. Gods of knowledge, in both things past and things to come are sought after. They hide their secrets in the night sky, in the changing of the heavens; those secrets wait for the astute observer and the faithful scholar.

Disciple of Knowledge

As a student of the School of Stars, you learn certain magics by heart in the course of your studies. The following spells are automatically added to your spellbook once you are able to cast them. They are wizard spells for you, you always have them prepared, and they do not count against the number of spells you can prepare.

  • Guiding Bolt
  • Soothe Anguish
  • Starfall Invocation
  • Tell Fortune
  • Under Garayin's Eye
  • Visions of Doom

Stargazer

At 2nd level, you can divine the mysteries of your knowledge god and the events of the future by reading their canvas.

When you finish a long rest during which you studied the night sky, roll 1d20. The symbols you read in the night sky tell you important details about your future, detailed in the Horoscope Table below. The effect of your Horoscope roll is carried out by the GM within the specified time period.

You cannot use this feature unless you spend at least 2 hours of your long rest stargazing or studying your knowledge god's mysteries, for instance within sacred texts or star charts. You cannot roll on the Horoscope Table a second time until the current roll has expired or been carried out.

Celestial Transcription

Beginning at 6th level, you can pull magic from the heavens and into the notes you take of your observations. When you use your Stargazer feature, you may choose to create a special star chart instead of making a Horoscope roll. The star chart must have one of two effects, which must be chosen when it is created.

  • Make a Horoscope roll and record the result. At any time while the star chart is in your possession, you may use your action to trigger the recorded effect as if you had used Stargazer. Once you do so, the star chard disintegrates.
  • Choose a divination spell that you can cast of 5th level or lower with a casting time of 1 action, or 1 bonus action. At any time while the star chart is in your possession, you may cast the chosen spell without expending a spell slot. Once you do so, the star chart disintegrates.

Starlight Savant

Beginning at 10th level, you can extend your study of the stars to encompass larger patters between the canvas of stars. When you complete a long rest, during which you spent 2 hours stargazing, you may choose to forego your Horoscope roll. Each time you do so, you gain 1 Horoscope point. You cannot have more than 3 Horoscope points.

When you perform a Horoscope roll, you may spend any number of Horoscope points and either add or subtract the number spent from your roll, changing the result. Once you have changed the result in this way, your Horoscope points reset to zero.

Skies Tell All

At 14th level, your predictions become more potent the night before a great danger. If an effect would cause you, or creatures you can see to make a saving throw, you can use your reaction to make an Intelligence Saving Throw against the effect's DC. If you succeed, all creatures who would have made the throw instead automatically succeed. If you fail, saving throws are made as normal.

Regardless of the outcome, you cannot use this feature again until you complete a long rest.
