Gadgeteer

You focus your artisan talents on making small-scale gizmos.  You tend to carry a lot of them.  These gadgets usually have minor uses, but you've found ways to keep them on your person at all times.  These gadgets emulate a lot of the tricks people around you seem to do.

Tool Proficiency

You gain proficiency in one artisan tool of your choice.

Gadgeteer Spells

You always have certain spells prepared after you reach particular levels in this class, as shown in the Gadgeteer Spells table. These spells count as artificer spells for you, but they don’t count against the number of artificer spells you prepare.

Inventor's Cantrips

At 3rd level, you learn two additional cantrips from any spell list.  The cantrips count as artificer spells but do not count against the cantrips you know.

Field Modification

At 6th level, when you cast a damaging spell, you can choose to alter the damage type of this casting of the spell to one of another spell of the same level you know or one of an attuned magic items.

Enhanced Gadget

At 9th level you can choose a 1st level spell from any spell list.  The spell counts as an artificer spell for you, is always prepared, can be casted at will, and does not count against the artificer spells you know.  You can only cast this spell at 1st level.

Gadget Reserves

At 15th level, you get at pool of points equal to 3 times your intelligence modifier (minimum of 1) plus your proficiency bonus.    You can spend points to either choose to succeed on skill challenges or recharge spell slots.  The cost for these charges depends on the DC of the check or level of the spell slot.  You get all spent points back on a long rest.
