Base Class: Paladin
When the divine had made creation they imbued it with one the most important fundamentals, the opportunity of choice. Paladins who take the Oath of Freedom recognize the importance of that anchor of creation. Such individuals know the cost when freedom is restricted upon a person. When authority is paraded as salvation when in reality it is shackles to the masses. Tyranny is the greatest foe for those who take such an oath. Such champions seek to free slaves or wrongful convictions, to erode corruption and systems that exploit the choices (or the lack thereof) of others, to fight against the oppression that unchecked law can bring, and to bring justice against those who would use such tyranny for their personal gain.
Tenets of Freedom
While the exact phrases and proponents of the Oath of Freedom vary, paladins of this oath frequently share these values.
- Liberty: Every creature has the right to choose their own destiny, to whatever end it may lead them.
- Preserve: A creature's personal freedoms must never infringe on the freedoms of others.
- Unbridle: There will be those that seek to vanquish the freedoms of others for their own gain. Wherever tyranny emerges you must rise to stand against it.

Channel Divinity
When you take this oath at 3rd level, you gain the following two Channel Divinity options.
Chain Shatterer. You can use your Channel Divinity to bolster yourself or an ally with the strength to demolish the shackles that bind them. As a bonus action, you can present your holy symbol and magically end all of the following conditions on a creature that you can see within 30 feet of you: Grappled, Paralyzed, Restrained, and Stunned.
Surge of Alacrity: You can use your Channel Divinity to grant a short magical burst of speed to yourself and allies. As an action, you present your holy symbol, and give up to five creatures of your choice that you can see within 30 feet of you the ability to take the disengage or dash actions as a bonus action for up to 1 minute. A creature can use this type of bonus action a number of time times equal to half of your proficiency bonus, rounded down.
Aura of Liberation
Starting at 7th level, creatures will have disadvantage on opportunity attacks against you and friendly creatures within 10 feet of you while you a conscious. Additionally, you and friendly creatures within your aura while you are conscious have advantage on Strength (Athletics) and Dexterity (Acrobatics) checks to avoid being grappled.
At 18th level, the range of this aura increases to 30 feet.
Serendipitous Step
Starting at 15th level, when a creature makes an opportunity attack against you or a friendly creature within 30 feet of you, you can use your reaction immediately after the attack to move up to half your speed and make one attack roll against that creature. This additional movement doesn't provoke opportunity attacks.
Paragon of the Free
At 20th level, you can infuse yourself with the power of unbridled freedom. Using your action, you undergo a transformation which causes your form and equipment to appear partially translucent or spectral. For 1 hour, you gain the following benefits.
- You gain a flying speed equal to your walking speed.
- You can travel through physical objects, but not through creatures or the equipment they are carrying.
- You do not need to breath
- Your form cannot be altered by any means unless you allow it.
- You are immune to any condition, spell, or effect that would reduce your speed.
If you occupy the same spot as a solid object when this effect ends, you are immediately shunted to the nearest unoccupied space that you can occupy and take force damage equal to twice the number of feet you are moved. In the event you are rendered unconscious with this feature still active while in a physical object, you are safely shunted to the nearest unoccupied space that you can occupy.
Once you use this feature, you can't use it again until you finish a long rest.

Posted Jun 9, 2023I can't wait to try this out in a one shot or mini campaign. It reads as balanced enough that my DMs will give the thumbs up.
