Base Class: Bard
You’ve tried the lute, you’ve tried the flute, but you always seem to get the boot. You spent more time in the bars sitting in the audience watching other perform to understand how they become so great with the arts. You finally after years of trying to be the performer you feel you were born to be, realize there’s more to be made in what everyone has in there hands. The drinks!! The mead.. the more people drink the more lenient they are with their coin. Let’s bring smiles and temporarily kill sorrows with a little alcohol. Maybe if you get them drunk enough your music will be astounding.
You spend month after month traveling from bar to bar tasting and trying new combinations of herbs in these quenching mind altering beverages. From the coin you make by selling the drinks you are confident in, buy the ingredients to invent your own new blends. Brew after brew continually getting better and better, finally starting to see some of your creations have complex properties, that tend to leave some in better condition than before that sampled your concoction. Leaving your instrument behind in a shadowy corner finally finding something you excel at. Grabbing your bag and tankards as you set off to brew the perfect sip.
*There will be bootlegger specific spells in the homebrew spell list beginning with "Bootlegger's" . These spells will have the brew ingredients to use them as consumables or thrown vials that will bust and administer fumes to the target as a secondary way to use the spell incase it requires the target to be willing in which case the enemy usually will not be.
Brewist’s Inaptitude
When taking this archetype at 3rd level, you gain proficiency with the brewers supplies and cooks utensils. If you are already proficient with these tools you may gain proficiency with the herbalist’s kit instead. Additionally, you no longer need to use an instrument as your arcane focus. Instead you may use an alcoholic beverage instead of the instrument. You are now proficient in all simple weapons.
Liquid Courage
From the start of level 6, you imbue your drink with a little something extra. Your drinks now grant the full value of your bardic inspiration for 10 minutes. Also, they grant the consumer advantage on Wisdom Savings Throws and immunity to anything that inflicts fear. You can use this feature a number of times equal to your charisma modifier (a minimum of once). You regain any expended uses after you finish a long rest.
Accomplished Brewmaster
Starting at 14th level, once per day, you can expend one use of Bardic Inspiration. Roll a Bardic Inspiration die and for the number rolled, gain that many potent brews. You can choose to brew a potent brew as you create a normal beverage, and the potent brew is a copy of the selected regular brew. Each potent brew requires half the number of ingredients to create, can be used as a bonus action, additionally requires no spell slots, and halves the amount of ingredients needed to brew the regular concoction created alongside it.
