Greenmages are the heirs of the ancient traditions of the sylvan elves. They are wardens of the forest, specialized in nature magic and also reliable bowmen, trained to survive without spells if need be - as they had to in the wake of the Cataclysm.
Green Magic
At 2nd level, you can prepare and copy spells into your spellbook from the Ranger spell list.
Warden of the Forest
Starting at 2nd level, you gain proficiency with short bows and light armor, as well as gain the Archery fighting style.
Additionally, difficult terrain caused by natural phenomena does not slow your movement.
Arrows from the Green
Starting at 6th level, you can add Green Magic to the arrows you shoot. When you make an attack with a bow, you can choose one of the following effects:
- Entangling Shot: Your arrow can transform into a vine on impact. The target must make a Strength saving throw or be restrained until the end of your next turn.
- Thorny Pass: Your arrow creates a burst of thorns on impact. Hit or miss, the arrow creates a 10 foot square of difficult terrain where it was aimed. creatures that attempt to pass through take 1d6 piercing damage per 5 feet they move.
- Viper's Flight: Your arrow transforms into a poisonous snake on impact. The target must make a Constitution saving throw, on a failure they take 3d4 poison damage and are poisoned for 1 minute. They can remake the saving throw at the end of their turns.
You can use these features an amount of times equal to your Intelligence modifier each.
Leaf Scales
Beginning at 10th level, the Green helps ward off harm. When you take damage from a ranged attack or spell, you can use your reaction to halve the attack's damage against you.
A Storm in the Trees
At 14th level, your knowledge of the druidic and martial arts turn you into a peerless warrior. When you cast a spell as an action, you can attack with a ranged weapon as a bonus action.
Additionally, you can add your Intelligence modifier to Dexterity saving throws and the damage you deal with the shortbow and longbow.
