Monk
Base Class: Monk

Towards the Eastern Seitaku Continent lay remnants of a distant past in the form of spectral butterflies known as the Korai-Cho. These butterflies grant very brief peeks into the world's pasts, and into the near future. The mystical nature of these creatures has made it nearly impossible to study them fully, though some monks have been able to slowly harness their abilities across many generations. Eventually, these monks allow these butterflies to lay on their weapon, drawing from their forms in battle. Sometimes, these monks may even peer into the past and future with these butterflies.

Graceful Guidance

3rd-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You gain the guidance of the Korai-Cho. As an action, you peer into the Korai-Cho's wings, gaining visions of pioneers at work. Choose a skill, and you double your proficiency modifier to any check made with that skill. This effect lasts until you finish a short rest.

Once you use this feature, you may not do so again until you finish a long rest.

Grace Weapon

3rd-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You learn the grace of the Korai-Cho and apply it to a single weapon, allowing you to perform grand movements with fluidity. Choose a melee or ranged weapon that lacks the two-handed or heavy property to be your grace weapon. You may choose the glaive, spear, trident or halberd as well, and these weapons gain the finesse property with this feature. You gain proficiency with this weapon if you don't already have it. Attacks with your grace weapon count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistances and immunity to nonmagical attacks and damage.

While wielding your grace weapon and when you take the Attack action to make a weapon attack with your grace weapon, you can spend a ki point to propel yourself into the air as you surround yourself with your Korai-Cho. Until the start of your next turn, you gain a flying (hover) speed equal to your movement speed. While you are hovering in this way, ranged attacks against you are made at disadvantage, and you can make a single weapon attack as a bonus action with your grace weapon. At the start of your next turn, you float gently to the ground if you are still aloft.

Future Glimpse

6th-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You are able to gain brief insight into the very near future with your Korai-Cho. As a bonus action, you can spend a ki point to glimpse into the near future. Until the start of your next turn, attacks against you are made at disadvantage, and you make the next saving throw before the start of your next turn at advantage.

When a creature within range misses its attack, you can use a reaction to make a single weapon attack with your grace weapon against it.

Additional Grace Weapon

11th-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You choose another weapon -- melee or ranged -- to be your grace weapon, following the criteria from your Grace Weapon feature.

Butterfly Trance

11th-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You are able to entrance with the natural beauty of your Korai-Cho. As an action, you can force a creature within 30 feet of you to make a Wisdom saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failed save, the creature is charmed by you for 1 minute.

Once you use this feature, you may not do so again until you finish a long rest or spend 2 ki points to do so.

Graceful Fury

11th-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You can send out your Korai-Cho to explode at your opponents. As an action, you can spend 2 ki points and choose a creature you can see within 30 feet of you. The creature as well as any number of creatures you choose within 10 feet of it must make a Dexterity saving throw against your ki save DC. On a failed save, the creature takes psychic or force damage (your choice) equal to four martial arts dice and are knocked prone. On a successful save, the creature takes half that damage and isn't knocked prone.

One with Grace

17th-level Way of the Butterfly feature.

You learn to become one with the Korai-Cho for a short period of time and traverse the Ethereal Plane of Yasura. As an action, you can cast the etherealness spell without expending a spell slot. When you cast etherealness with this feature, it lasts for 1 minute. It is also dismissed early if you choose to do so as a bonus action or until you take damage.

Once you use this feature, you may not do so again until you finish a long rest.
