Monk
Base Class: Monk

Your monastic tradition has spent centuries developing ways of meditating on the extra-dimensional realities of the universe. Monks within this monastic tradition are known as Divination Monks, and go through various stages of training to reach the highest level of proficiency with all of its abilities. A monk that has attained this highest degree of training is called a Divining Soul.

As a divination monk you have learned how to channel your Ki to see into the future, and have used this ability especially to benefit your martial strategies and improve your technique, preserving your energy and focusing it into more efficient and deadly attacks as well as more effective defences.

Spellcasting

When you take this subclass at level 3, you gain the spellcasting ability. Through meditation, you have learned to channel your Ki into the extra-dimensional time continuum, giving you glimpses of knowledge of things to come. This quasi-magical ability augments your monk training, duplicating the effects of certain spells. Wisdom is your spellcasting ability for the spells you cast. The power of your spells comes from the Ki that you channel, and therefore often expends certain amounts of your Ki points. As a monk, you may use the symbol of your monastic tradition as a spellcasting focus, either worn as a pendant around your neck, sewn onto your clothing, or tattooed on your body. As long as you have this spellcasting focus on you, you do not need the material components to cast the spells.

You gain the Guidance cantrip if you don’t already know it. Additionally, as a reaction, you can spend 1 ki point to cast Shield. And as a bonus action, you can spend 2 ki points to cast Hunter's Mark.

Portent

Starting at 6th level, glimpses of the future begin to press in on your awareness. When you finish a long rest, roll two d20s and record the numbers rolled. You can replace any attack roll, saving throw, or ability check made by you or a creature that you can see with one of these foretelling rolls. You must choose to do so before the roll, and you can replace a roll in this way only once per turn. Each foretelling roll can be used only once. When you finish a long rest, you lose any unused foretelling rolls.

Divination Apprentice

Also at 6th level, you learn how to Find Weaknesses. When you pause momentarily to observe a creature that you can see, you are able to divine its points of vulnerability. As a bonus action, you can spend 2 ki points to roll one Martial Arts die, and you can add the number rolled to all attack rolls and damage rolls against that creature until the end of your next turn.

Journeyman Diviner

Starting at 11th level, through extensive training you have acquired the ability to see even deeper into other realities. As an action, you can spend 3 ki points to cast See Invisibility, or spend 5 ki points to cast Arcane Eye.

Greater Portent

Starting at 17th level, the visions in your dreams intensify and paint a more accurate picture in your mind of what is to come. You roll three d20s for your Portent feature, rather than two.

Divining Soul

Starting at 17th level, your mastery of divination has broadened the scope and breadth of things that you foresee. You can spend one minute in meditation and spend 10 ki points to cast Foresight, and you can only target yourself for this spell. At level 17, the duration of the spell is 1 hour; at level 18, the duration is 2 hours; at level 19, the duration is 4 hours; at level 20, the duration is 8 hours.
