Ranger
Base Class: Ranger

Desperadoes are characterised by their extreme efficiency in a 1-on-1 battle. Desperadoes seek out those who oppose their allegiance, whether it be the law or outlaw, then almost always succeed in eliminating them. It's unwise to accept a desperado's offer for a duel - only the most skilled and agile will be able to shoot before a ranger of this archetype.

Quick Draw

At 3rd level, you gain the skills and reaction time necessary to consistently move first in a battle. Add your Wisdom modifier to your initiative rolls, as well as the Dexterity you normally add.
Additionally, when you roll initiative at the start of combat, you can choose to gain a +6 bonus to your initiative roll. If you choose to do so, you must make a ranged weapon attack on your first turn in combat. The optional bonus to initiative from this feature increases to +10 at 11th level.

Fatal Opening

Starting at 7th level, if your ranged weapon attack hits a creature that has not yet dealt damage to you in this combat, increase the damage dealt by that attack by 4d6 + your Dexterity modifier. Until you roll initiative again at the start of combat, the extra damage is reduced to 2d6 + your Dexterity modifier.

Evasive Countershot

Starting at 11th level, when a creature makes a ranged attack against you, you can add your Wisdom modifier to your AC as a reaction. If the attack misses, you can then make a ranged weapon attack against that creature as part of the same reaction.

Swift Accuracy

Starting at 15th level, you have truly mastered the art of hitting your shot as soon as battle starts. On your first turn in combat, if you miss with a ranged weapon attack, you can reroll the attack roll, potentially turning the miss into a hit. You can use this feature multiple times in a turn, but not again once your first turn is over, until you finish a short rest.
