Base Class: Cleric
“They do not die; they do not live. They are outside the cycle.”
— Herald Volazj
Such are the masters you serve. The ancient ones whisper to you, and to many other, silently manipulating events behind the scenes. But you are all too aware of their power, their hunger, their majesty... And your objective is theirs, to free them, to release them upon the world! Old gods have origins older than time and deeper than space can carry, but often their goal is to consume. Whenever that be life, energy or otherwise, all old gods consume and create new, horrid life from their flesh to further their freedom from whatever prison they were subjected to.

You can hear anything spoken, even a whisper, as long as a creature is speaking within 300ft of you. In addition, your ears can pick up on living creatures; you have advantage on perception (hearing) checks against creatures, except undead, constructs and oozes. You can tell in a vague fashion the basic emotions of a creature by listening to their heartbeat and blood flow, as long as they are within 30ft of you.
Sanity
1st-level Madness Domain feature
You have a sanity meter, calculated by combining the sums of your Wisdom, Intelligence and Charisma Scores. any time you fail a saving throw or are hit by an attack, you lose an amount of sanity equal to the difference between your save and the DC, or between the attack roll and your armor class respectively. You gain different abilities, based on your sanity level.

40 or more: Creatures who hit 0 hit points within 10ft of you do not die, and are stabilized.
30 or more: Creatures who fail a saving throw within 5ft of you are frightened of you until the end of your next turn.
20 or more: You may add your wisdom modifier to necrotic damage you deal
10 or more: You are covered in shadows. you have half cover from melee attacks
9-1: SURRENDER TO MADNESS. You gain the benefits of all the abilities above, as long as your maximum sanity is higher than the minimum amount to use that ability.
0 Sanity: You drop to 0 hit points. You regain 1 sanity
Channel Divinity: Shadow Form
2nd-level Madness Domain feature
You can use your Channel Divinity to wreathe yourself in pure shadowy madness.
As an action, you present your holy symbol, and you become enveloped in shadows. Any creature within 10 feet of you can hear the whispers that so often trace along your own thoughts and dreams, growing louder the closer to you they are. This form lasts as long as you are conscious, but can be ended early as an action. While in this form, you are immune to the effects of madness (DM discretion what counts as madness) and may even gain benefits from receiving that madness (DM discretion if and how the madness affects you positively Ex. Damage becoming healing, disadvantage becoming advantage) and you gain the following benefits:
- When you hit a creature with a melee spell attack, you may inflict them with Spreading Madness, which lasts for one minute. While afflicted with this madness, they must make a charisma saving throw against your spell save DC, or take necrotic damage equal to your cleric level at the start of their turns. On a successful saving throw, the effects ends instead, even if stacked. If they manage to hit a creature with a melee spell attack, this effect transfers to the struck target. This effect can stack, a number of times equal to half your proficiency bonus, rounded down.
Improved Shadow Form
6th-level Madness Domain feature
Your Shadow form becomes stronger, gaining an additional effect:
- Fear and Charm effects on you have an additional effect: You gain an additional saving throw to resist this effect. When the effect ends on you, you heal an amount equal to your wisdom score times the amount of saving throws you made to resist the effects.
Decrepit Strike
8th-level Twilight Domain feature
You gain the ability to infuse your weapon strikes with foul energy. Once on each of your turns when you hit a creature with a weapon or spell attack, you can cause the attack to deal an extra 1d8 necrotic damage. When you reach 14th level, the extra damage increases to 2d8.
Scion of the Old Ones
17th-level Madness Domain feature
You have become an archon of madness, as your whispers grow ever stronger. You choose a path to best serve towards your master's freedom, willing or otherwise, you are too far along to quit now.
When you would summon a creature, you instead summon a thing from beyond. This thing has the same stats as the summoned creature, except it is always within 10ft of you, moves with you, acts on your turn. If the thing from beyond hits a creature with an attack, it is considered as if you hit that creature with a melee spell attack.
Also, Choose One:
Idol of Flesh: Your things from beyond come with an additional void tentacle, summoned in it's space (the tentacle has no physical form, just an appearance). The tentacle channels powerful void magic on the last creature damaged by you or your things from beyond (changing targets if something else takes damage). At the end of your turn, that creatures takes the same amount of damage as it last took from you or your things from beyond.
Idol of Obliteration: Your melee spell attacks may expend hit die to deal additional necrotic damage. Whenever you receive healing, you also regenerate one hit die.
