The Swashbuckler, originating from the many archipelagos of the world of Algany, is a cunning and fierce architype that involves individuals that have developed a unique and less than honorable fighting style of single shot firearms and quick and nimble bladework.  often found in at the shores and on ships these quick witted individuals use the technological advancement of black powder and firearms to its fullest in a way much more close and personal than your typical gunslinger. pairing bullet and blade to create a fierce and deadly combination.

Powdered Fingers

The buccaneer has gotten quite nimble with their reload. using their swift hands they can reload their firearm as a free action.

The Powder Keg Special

the buccaneer has honed their quickdraw abilities with their firearm, allowing them to make precise shots in a small amount of time. They create a small keg of black powder and nails and throw a small keg into the air up to 25 feet away and shoot the keg in the air exploding it into a massive fireball of Black powder and nails, dealing 6d8 damage in a 10 foot radius on a failed constitution save of 18.

with years under their belt, and countless encounters of experience the buccaneer has come to love the thrill of life. when focusing on something whether it be combat or activity based the buccaneer has become cunning and quick to think. None can match the might and cunningness of this buccaneer. once per day the buccaneer can gain advantage on an action, no matter what it may be as long as they are proficient in it.

Black Powder Specialist

The Buccaneer has come to understand and take advantage of the use of black powder in combat, specifically in one round firearms.

At their core the Buccaneer is a pirate, living for the thrill of the fight, and the bounty of battle in a world of exploration, and in such they have honed their sailing abilities.

Explosive Duelist

The Buccaneer is a skilled swordsman that specializes in the finesse of black powder pistols in combat. They have practiced and become able to duel wield a single round firearm and a finesse bladed weapon, allowing them to use them simultaneously. After making an attack if the player so chooses they can expend their bonus action to make a secondary attack with the other weapon in their hand. 

 

 

Buccaneers Bamboozles

These are different forms of less honorable and mischievous tactics that the morally questionable are more than happy to use in combat, giving them the upper hand or a edge over their opponents that could sway the course of battle.

Flying Fire

The manipulation of black powder isnt the only thing the buccaneer has up their sleeves. taking a flask of oil the buccaneer sticks a piece of cloth in the bottle and ignites it, then they throw the bottle into the air and smash it into the blade of their sword, sending oil and glass flying over a 15 foot cone, with a failed dex save of 18 those encompassed in the oil are lit on fire, taking 1d8 damage over 5 turns, taking an action to extinguish. 

Powder Keg

The Buccaneer has learned to manipulate black powder beyond the limits of their firearm. taking an action the buccaneer uses using their supply of black powder the buccaneer fills a container with it and a handful of bullets or metal scraps, and topping it off with a fuse, then they ignite the fuse and throw the keg with a range of 25 feet, after 1 turn the keg explodes dealing 6d8 damage on a failed save.

Scatter Shot

The buccaneer takes an action to quickly load a handful of metal scraps into the barrel of their flintlock, fills the rest with black powder and pulls the trigger, as the gun fires off metal scraps are thrown out in a 10 foot cone from the flintlock and damages anything in the cone dealing 2d10 damage.

Slick Fire

As a bonus action the buccaneer takes out a flask of oil, coating the blade of their sword with it. then they strike the blade against the barrel of their flintlock sparking the blade into ignition. this deals an extra 1d6 fire damage on attacks. this lasts until the blade is sheathed or the fire is extinguished.

Smoke Shot

The smoke shot is one of the Buccaneer many tricks to turn the tides of battle, the buccaneer fills their flintlock barrel with black powder and pulls the trigger as an as an action, a cloud of black powder and smoke erupts from the gun and encompasses a 10 foot radius from where it was fired. while in the smoke cloud all individuals except for the Swashbuckler will have disadvantage on attacks and ability checks. the effects last for 1d6 rounds.
