Base Class: Ranger
Gloom stalkers find solace in the depths of the darkest realms: deep underground, in dimly lit alleyways, within ancient forests, and wherever the light wanes. While most people approach such locations with fear, a gloom stalker fearlessly embraces the darkness, aiming to stealthily confront and neutralize threats before they can unleash havoc upon the world at large. These rangers frequently make their presence known in the treacherous Underdark, yet they are willing to traverse any domain where malevolence lurks within the shadows.
Dread Ambusher and Umbral Sight
At 3rd level, your mastery of ambush tactics allows you to excel in initiating combat. You grant yourself a bonus to your initiative rolls equal to your Wisdom modifier.
Furthermore, at the onset of each combat encounter, your agility is heightened. Your walking speed increases by 10 feet during the first turn of combat. Should you choose to take the Attack action on that turn, you gain the ability to execute an additional weapon attack as part of the action. If this supplementary attack successfully lands, the target suffers an additional 1d8 damage of the weapon's respective type.
In addition to these skills, you acquire darkvision with a range of 60 feet at 3rd level. If you already possess darkvision due to your race, its range expands by an additional 30 feet.
Notably, you possess a remarkable proficiency in eluding creatures that rely on darkvision. When in darkness, you become invisible to any creature dependent on darkvision to perceive you within that obscured realm.
Iron Mind
Upon reaching the 7th level, your adeptness at withstanding the mental manipulations of your adversaries becomes finely tuned. You acquire proficiency in Wisdom saving throws. If you already possess this proficiency, you have the option to gain proficiency in either Intelligence or Charisma saving throws, you get to choose.
If Your Character Does Not Have Wisdom Saving Throw Proficiency
You gain proficiency in Wisdom saving throws.
If Your Character Has Wisdom Saving Throw Proficiency
You gain proficiency in either Intelligence or Charisma saving throws (your choice).
Stalker's Flurry
Upon reaching the 11th level, you acquire the skill to unleash attacks with astonishing swiftness, enabling you to transform a missed strike into an opportunity for another attack. Once during each of your turns, should you fail to hit with a weapon attack, you can make an additional weapon attack as part of the same action.
Shadowy Dodge
Upon reaching the 15th level, your evasive maneuvers take on an uncanny nature, accompanied by ethereal wisps of supernatural shadow enveloping your form. Whenever a creature attempts to strike you with an attack and lacks advantage on the attack roll, you possess the ability to employ your reaction to impose disadvantage on that roll. You must use this feature before you know the outcome of the attack roll.
