Base Class: Paladin

Oath of Storms

Paladins who swear the Oath of Storms dedicate themselves to harnessing the primal power of storms and unleashing its fury upon their enemies. They become conduits of lightning, thunder, and tempestuous energy, embodying the raw power and unpredictability of the storm. These paladins uphold the principles of protection, justice, and the pursuit of a greater balance in the world.

Tenets of the Oath

The paladins who follow the Oath of Storms adhere to a set of tenets that guide their actions and beliefs. These tenets reflect the nature of storms and the responsibilities that come with wielding their power. Some examples of these tenets include:

  1. Embrace the Storm: The storm is a force of nature, both destructive and renewing. Embrace its power and respect its might, for within it lies the potential for great change and growth.

  2. Protector of the Weary: Stand as a shield against injustice and tyranny. Defend those who cannot defend themselves, offering aid and protection to the weak and vulnerable.

  3. Unleash the Tempest: In times of conflict, let the storm surge through you. Channel its lightning to smite your foes and summon the thunder to rally your allies.

  4. Seek Balance: Just as storms bring chaos and calm, strive for a balance between your duty and the pursuit of personal growth. Do not let the storm consume you, but instead use its power to bring harmony to the world.

Channel Divinity

At 3rd level, paladins of the Oath of Storms gain access to unique abilities granted by their connection to storms. They can tap into their Channel Divinity to invoke storm-based effects, such as:

  1. Stormstrike: Infuse a weapon with the power of the storm, adding lightning damage to your attacks.

  2. Gale of Reprisal: Summon a powerful gust of wind to push back enemies or protect allies from ranged attacks.

Storm's Fury

Starting at 7th level, the paladin's connection to storms grants them resilience against the elements. They gain resistance to lightning and thunder damage. Additionally, when they cast a spell or use a class feature that deals lightning or thunder damage, they can add their Charisma modifier to the damage roll.

Stormborne Guardian

At 15th level, the paladin's devotion to the Oath of Storms grants them unparalleled protection against the forces of nature. They gain immunity to lightning and thunder damage. Additionally, they can use their reaction to grant themselves or an ally within 30 feet resistance against a spell or effect that deals lightning or thunder damage.

Tempest's Wrath

At 20th level, the paladin becomes a living storm, harnessing the full might of the tempest. Once per long rest, as an action, they can transform into an ethereal form wreathed in crackling lightning. While in this form, they gain a flying speed of 60 feet, their melee weapon attacks deal additional lightning damage, and they emanate an aura of storm energy that damages enemies within 10 feet of them. The transformation lasts for 1 minute, and during this time, they have advantage on saving throws against spells and effects that would restrict their movement.
