Sorcerer
Base Class: Sorcerer

Your mind is a patchwork of madness and sanity. Tormented sorcerers are those whose minds are much closer to a rabid dog than a reasonable being. The insanity in the minds of the Tormented sorcerer is to such an extreme that even the weave believes it so. The  delusions of the individual bring themselves to power. Whether you were exposed to a mind shattering event, tortured to insanity, or simply born in such a way you are fundamentally and completely insane.

Demented Enchantments

Starting at 1st level, you learn additional spells when you reach certain levels in this class, as shown on the Demented Enchantments table. Each of these spells counts as a sorcerer spell for you, but it doesn't count against the number of sorcerer spells you know.

Whenever you gain a sorcerer level, you can replace one spell you gained from this feature with another spell of the same level. The new spell must be an enchantment or an illusion spell from the sorcerer, warlock, or wizard spell list.

Insomnia

At 1st level, you experience such extreme levels of paranoia that it becomes impossible for you to sleep. You no longer need to sleep and can't be forced to sleep by any means. To gain the benefits of a long rest, you can spend all 8 hours doing light activity, such as observing your obsession or keeping watch.

Obsession

Also beginning at level 1, you obsess over one object or creature to a point it becomes magical in your mind. Choose one creature or object that becomes the focus of your obsession. While you are holding or within 5 feet of your obsession you can use it as a spellcasting focus for your sorcerer spells. If you can’t see your obsession you take a -5 to your passive perception as it becomes impossible for you to put a single thought together. You can change the focus of your obsession over the course of 1 hour, which can be done during a short or long rest.

Subject Insanity

Starting at 6th level, you can imbue your spells with your own insanity for a brief moment. Whenever you cast a spell of 1st level or higher through your obsession you can spend 2 sorcery points to force one creature affected by your spell to make a wisdom saving throw against your spell save DC. On a failure the creature is inflicted with short term madness (DMG, 258). A creature can repeat this saving throw at the end of each of its turns ending the effects on itself on a success.

Muddled Thoughts

Beginning at 14th level, your mind is starting to become so uncontrollably insane that it becomes nigh impossible for others to understand. You have advantage on all saves against the charmed and frightened conditions. In addition your thoughts can't be read by telepathy or other means, unless you allow it. If you choose not to allow a creature to read your thoughts the creature still believes it is reading your thoughts but thinks it cannot understand them.

Additionally, if a spell is cast on you that attempts to force you to partake in a course of action you don’t wish to do such as the Command, Suggestion, or Dominate Person Spells, you can spend a number of sorcery points equal to the level the spell is cast at to become immune to its effects for 24 hours.

Fixation or Phobia

Beginning at 18th level, you can put others through the same distress you went through. You learn the Antipathy/Sympathy spell, it counts as a sorcerer spell for you but it doesn’t count against the number of spells you know. When you cast the Antipathy/Sympathy spell rather than specify one type of intelligent creature, you can choose one specific target for the spell to affect. When you cast the spell in this way the spell lasts until dispelled.
