Base Class: Monk
Monks of the Way of the Gun Fu are masters in the sophisticated close-quarters gunplay resembling a martial arts battle played out with firearms instead of traditional weapons.
The focus of gun fu is both style and the usage of firearms in ways that they were not designed to be used. Shooting a gun from each hand (usually paired with jumping to the side at the same time), shots from behind the back, as well as the use of guns as melee weapons are all common.
Gun-Fu
When you choose this tradition at 3rd level, your special training allows you to make use of ranged weapons in combination with martial technique, you gain the following benefits:
Bonus Proficiencies. You gain proficiency in all ranged Martial weapons. These count as monk weapons for you.
Close Quarters Shooting. Being within 5 feet of a hostile creature doesn't impose disadvantage on your ranged attack rolls with firearms.
Change of Pace. When you draw or stow a weapon, you may draw or stow one additional weapon.
Shoot 'em Down! When you use your deflect missile ability and reduce the damage of the attack to 0, you can choose not to catch the missile and instead spend 1 ki point to immediately make a single attack with a ranged monk weapon you are holding against the attacker as part of the same reaction.
Quick on the Draw
Starting at 6th level, your keen eyes and manual dexterity are legendary. As a reaction when a creature you can see within range makes an attack, you may spend 2 ki point to make a ranged attack against the creature. If the attack hits, the creature has disadvantage on the inciting attack in addition to taking the weapon damage from your attack.
Ki-Empowered Shots
At 6th level, your ranged weapon attacks count as magical for the purpose of overcoming resistance and immunity.
Double Tap
Beginning at 11th level, if you take the attack action with a ranged weapon and have advantage on an attack roll against one of the targets, you can forgo the advantage for that roll to make an additional weapon attack against the same target, as part of the same action. You can do so no more than once per turn. Additionally, if you hit a creature with at least two ranged attacks in one turn, the creature takes extra damage equal to one roll of your monk die.
Rapid Fire
Starting at 17th level, when you use your martial arts or flurry of blows features, you can make the attacks with a ranged weapon you are holding instead of unarmed strikes. In addition you can spend 4 ki points as an action to make a ranged attack roll against a number of creatures equal to your dexterity modifier that are within your weapons range, you ignore the loading property for these attacks but still spend ammunition, and must make an attack roll against each target.
