Base Class: Bard
"Naval visionary, seafaring genius. Probably."
The Captain is the person responsible for steering and commanding a submarine and it's crew.
Not my First Ride
3rd-level Captain feature
The ocean will always be your first true love. Grants proficiency with Helm and Firearms.
Air of Command
3rd-level Captain feature
You exude confidence and a zero-tolerance for tomfoolery. When you make a Charisma (Persuasion) or Charisma (Intimidation) check, you can treat a d20 roll of 9 or lower as a 10.
Aspiring Leader
6th-level Captain feature
You're getting the hang of this Captain gig. Choose one of the following Captain talents
Inspirational Leader
Captain Special Talent
You are the rock of the crew. Your words inspire your crew to action, and your command is undeniable. Grants one additional charge of Bardic Inspiration. When granting an ally Inspiration, they roll your inspiration die + your proficiency modifier.
Man of Action
Captain Special Talent
On Europa, there is no room for indecisiveness. While in combat, any ship related rolls can be made with your Helm skill rather than the related skill. Proficiency does not carry over. Three times per Long Rest, you can roll an ability check using your Helm skill + your Proficiency Modifier.
Seasoned Wheelman
Captain Special Talent
You know your way around the caves and have a flair for daring maneuvers. Grants Expertise on Helm skill checks. Once per engagement, you can take an additional Maneuver on your turn (you cannot Take Position Twice in one turn). While piloting the submarine, you have access to Advanced Maneuvers.
Do Your Duty
6th-level Captain feature
You gave an order, and you mean to see it through. When a creature adds one of your Bardic Inspiration dice to its ability check, attack roll, or saving throw and the roll fails, you can expend an additional Bardic Inspiration to change the result to a critical success.
Down With The Ship
14th-level Captain feature
Come hell or high pressure, you'll whip these greenhorns into shape. When the sub becomes Sinking or Exposed, you recover Bardic Inspiration dice equal to half of your CHA Modifier, rounded down. While the ship is Exposed, any ally that uses a Bardic Inspiration dice may take an additional action on the same turn in which they used it. The result of the Inspiration dice may be added to a subsequent roll on the additional action.
