Depth Stalker

Prerequisite: Gloom Stalker Ranger, befriend a Deep dragon that agrees to teach you.

Depth Stalkers have taken Gloom Stalker techniques and honed them with the help of a powerful being; a Deep Dragon. While a Gloom Stalker favors quick and efficient attacks that are over in an instant, the Depth Stalker uses this knowledge to become a formidable foe throughout the battle. 

With a lust for collecting trivia, insights, tricks, and knowledge from far flung places, the Depth Stalker focuses on the accumulation of a hoard of information. Their quest to acquire such things may take them to unsavory places where their combat prowess will be needed. 

When a Gloom Stalker evolves into a Depth Stalker they are given the opportunity to recreate themselves with this goal in mind. Your previous Gloom Stalker features are no longer in effect and are instead replaced with Depth Stalker features.

Deepened Senses

Your training with a Deep Dragon has granted you aspects of their arsenal that may be helpful both in and out of combat.

Gain 60ft of darkvision, 20ft of blindsight and 10ft of tremorsense. You add your wisdom modifier to you initiative rolls.

Intelligent Hunter

 Your teachings have allowed you to fight like a Deep Dragon. With a newfound philosophy towards battle, your comprehension is reflected in combat.

You understand that the best time to strike is before your opponent knows that you have. When you attack an enemy before they have made an attack action, you have advantage on the first attack made against the target. This attack can critically strike on a 19 or a 20.

Secret Keeper

Your insatiability towards closely guarded knowledge is readily apparent to you. Because of this, you have adapted some of your previously strengthened abilities to assist you in your pursuit of these secrets.

When you make an ability check to trade, pry or otherwise gather closely held information from someone or something, you may add your wisdom modifier to the roll. 

If the secret is presented to your Deep Dragon mentor and they deem it worthy, they may present you with a Boon of Depth. You may only have one active boon at a time. If you have been granted more than one boon you can change boons whenever you are granted a new one.

Boon of Agression

When your Intelligent Hunter class feature is activated, your attack can critically strike on an 18, 19, and 20. When you successfully critically strike with this ability and it kills the target, you may make one more weapon attack.

Boon of Alacrity

Your boon has prepared you for battle but perhaps too well. You have become to eager in your excitement for conflict.

You have advantage on Initiative rolls but disadvantage on perception rolls.

Boon of Scales

Your boon grants you scales similar to that of a Deep Dragon. Though they are strong, they are somewhat foreign to your body. 

Any critical hit against you becomes a normal hit. Your armor class is reduced by 2.

Boon of Swiftness

Your muscles become dense and slender similar to a deep dragon which allows for swifter movement.

Gain 10 additional movement speed. Gain advantage on acrobatics checks.

Boon of Understanding

Your boon has granted you a higher understanding of the world around you and the ones beyond.

You have advantage on wisdom saving throws.

One of the Deep

Your time spent learning from Deep Dragons has started to consume your body and mind. You take on characteristics of the beings that you have revered for so long. 

You gain 20ft of flight movement speed and 30ft of burrowing movement speed. You learn how to speak, read, and write draconic. Your skin begins to grow smooth scales that, in the light, are the color of amethyst, and while in the dark, appear nearly black. You also may develop patches of fungus around your head and neck. Your armor class is increased by 1.

Illuminated Hunter

Your time spent studying the aspects of Deep Dragons and their kind has allowed you to embody them to the fullest.

Your Intelligent Hunter feat now applies to any creature that has not yet dealt damage to you while in combat. You may have two Boon of Depths active at a time.
