Base Class: Wizard
The Rune Weaver is a master of ancient runes, drawing upon the power of the world tree Yggdrasil and the nine realms of Norse mythology. Through their deep connection with the runes, they harness both offensive and defensive capabilities to control the battlefield and provide healing and support to their allies.
Runic Lore
At 2nd level, you gain proficiency in the History skill if you don't already have it. Additionally, you learn to inscribe and decipher runes. You start with knowledge of three basic runes: Algiz (protection), Fehu (wealth), and Ansuz (communication). You can use these runes to cast specific spells and perform magical effects.
- Algiz (Protection): You and your allies within 30 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
- Fehu (Wealth): Whenever you or an ally within 30 feet of you regains hit points, they regain an additional amount equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1).
- Ansuz (Communication): You can cast Sending once without expending a spell slot. Additionally, you can understand and be understood by any creature that speaks a language you don't know.
Runic Mastery
At 2nd level, you gain the ability to inscribe runes onto surfaces or the air using your spellbook or other writing materials. Each time you gain a wizard level, you learn two additional runes of your choice from the Rune Weaver's rune list (provided below). You can inscribe a number of runes equal to your Intelligence modifier + half your wizard level (rounded down) per long rest.
Berkana (growth), Dagaz (day), Ehwaz (movement), Gebo (gift), Hagalaz (destruction), Inguz (fertility), Jera (harvest), Kenaz (torch), Laguz (water), Mannaz (human), Nauthiz (need), Othala (heritage), Perthro (luck), Raidho (journey), Sowilo (sun), Thurisaz (giant), Uruz (strength), Wunjo (joy).
Runic Channeling
Starting at 6th level, you can use your bonus action to channel the power of your rune magic inscribed on your spellbook. This feature also allows you to cast runes as a bonus action as well. Choose one rune from those you know casting it, and you also gain one of the following benefits for 1 minute:
Algiz (Protection): You and your allies within 30 feet of you have advantage on saving throws against spells and other magical effects.
Fehu (Wealth): Whenever you or an ally within 30 feet of you regains hit points, they regain an additional amount equal to your Intelligence modifier (minimum of 1).
Ansuz (Communication): You can understand and be understood by any creature that speaks a language you understand.
You can use this feature once, and you regain the ability to do so after a short or long rest.
Runic Manipulation
At 10th level, your understanding of runes deepens. You can now manipulate the existing runes on the battlefield to alter their effects. Whenever you activate a rune's effect or spell, you can choose one additional target within range to be affected by it.
This alteration remains until you use your Runic Manipulation feature again to change it.
Runic Harmony
Starting at 14th level, your mastery over rune magic allows you to weave two runes at the same time as an action or bonus action. You and your allies within 30 feet of you regain hit points equal to your wizard level at the start of each of your turns for 1 minute.
Additionally, while under the effects of your Runic Channeling feature, you can cast a single rune as a bonus action on each of your turns, without expending a spell slot or material components.
